Speaking in Tongues [03/21/08], The Library, Friday Afternoon
Andrew had discovered a hastily scrawled note from Karal saying that he wouldn't be able to make it to language club and requesting that Andrew be in charge today.
So that's why Andrew was standing in front of the group, looking slightly perplexed. "Um, so Karal couldn't be here today. I'm sure he had something amazing planned for us to do, but I have no clue what that might have been."
He smiled at everyone. "And, um, well... Seeing as how we should all be able to find some common languages between us now, how about we just play telephone!" That should be fun, right? Besides, he was fairly certain Karal had talked about doing that in language club at some point anyway.
"It's pretty simple. Someone just needs to come up with a message and then they whisper it to the next person in line. Then that person would whisper it to the next, and so on so forth, until it's made it all the way around and we can see how discombobulated it has gotten. But, seeing as how this is a language club, every time you pass on the message, you need to translate it into a new language!" It was a genius activity, really.
"And did you know that a person can be discombobulated but they can't be simply combobulated? It's not a real word. I just thought that was... neat. And now I'll sit down over here. Thanks."

Re: Sign In!
He wrote it in the old Ozian alphabet he'd found in one of the Queen's books. The shapes always seemed to creep him out.

She didn't actually know Rirhait, but she'd asked Sker'ret how her name would be written in his language, once. And it wasn't so much that she didn't like the language as the writing system, really.

Re: Sign In!
Naomi didn't dislike any languages but she wrote her name in Talaxian because that was one of the languages that she had found difficult to learn.
Chat!

Re: Chat!
She'd actually been extremely proud of the idea of the carrying sling, and secretly hoped there'd be at least someone to notice her ingenuity and inventiveness but, even if she went unnoticed as she mostly expected to have been, she was confident in the fact that the fake father of her fake droid baby would have at least commented. If he were here.

It was much easier than handling the perpetual headache and the remaining irritation.
Re: Talk to the Convenors!
"I hope I haven't passed it on to you."
Re: Talk to the Convenors!
"I'm fine."
His headache was something else entirely.
"But after this, I'm taking you back to the room and making you some soup. Good, plain soup, mostly broth even. And I'm going to watch you eat it."
He didn't even think of the clinic. He'd never been there, after all.
Re: Talk to the Convenors!
He glanced down at the baby droid playing happily next to his chair. "Droid babies don't need to eat." He sounded a bit jealous.
Re: Talk to the Convenors!
"We'll take it slow," he continued, his voice softer, more soothing. "But you have to have something, Andrew."
Re: Talk to the Convenors!
"I was really hoping it would just go away."
Re: Talk to the Convenors!
"No apologies," he said.
He smiled.
"We'll handle it together. You'll have plenty of opportunity to rest over the weekend."
Talk to the Librarian!
Re: Talk to the Librarian!
It was the library, after all.
