With his new decision to NEVER EVER DRIVE, Lee was choosing today to spend looking up alternate methods of transportation. So far, street luge seemed like the fastest, most exciting and Lee had already thrown out rollerskating (way too girly) and using a pogo stick (because ow).

He even had a list. He was determined to be productive.

Lee's managed to eliminate motorcycles as well. Too bad, they looked cool but no way was he chancing what almost happened in class.

For quite possibly the first (and possibly, she decided, only) time, Sarah Kerrigan strolled into the library. She came to a stop a few paces in, glancing around the area. "Adama?"

"Found me," he said, nodding. "Easiest day to find me. I'm always here on Sundays. It's like my home away from home away from home."

She waved that one off. "I wanted to check if you were okay after that mess with River last week," Kerrigan said-- stupid little thing, really, "Don't make me regret it."

"Why wouldn't I be?" Lee asked, shrugging. "I've gotten used to those type of messes."

"You're a teenager," Kerrigan pointed out, rolling her eyes, "You've barely even gotten used to zits."

"You're very presumptive this morning," Lee remarked dryly. "And actually, I'm used to these messes. They've been happening since I got here whether it's because I look like some guy who went here in the past and was as frakking idiot or I like the wrong girl or I'm not as good as someone else. I'm used to it."

"Hey, I didn't do anything," Lee said. "There was some guy here before me who was me who people either liked or didn't like and I got glared at and mistaken for him for months when I first got here. People don't like me because they don't like him. I don't try to cause trouble."

"Much," Kerrigan added, helpfully. "I just wanted to make sure you were okay, considering I'm stiffing you on a TA gig next term, but if you're too busy feeling sorry for yourself, I can come back another time..."

"I'm not feeling sorry for myself," Lee said, shaking his head. "I was just telling you some of the crap I've been dealing with. You don't have to leave."

"We all get crap, Lee," she sighed. "It doesn't make you special. But for what it's worth, I'm sorry River feels like she has to add to yours."

"I didn't say it made me special," Lee said tightly. "But, you know, you came in and asked and I told you. That's all. As for River, she's made it clear she can't like me. It's hard to change that now that she's told me."

"I can't help who I like," Lee said quietly. "But I don't like her because River does. I'm not trying to be malicious or to steal anything or anything like that. And I sometimes wonder if she thinks I am."

A wry smile. "She's a teenager too, Lee..." Kerrigan trailed off, just for a moment. "Impossible as it is to remember for her, sometimes."

"I know that," Lee said, nodding slowly. "But she can read things in my mind. Shouldn't she know that I'm not doing it to hurt her?"

"Is there anything I can do?" Lee asked. "I mean, I don't want her to hate me but I'm not going to stop liking who I like."

"Let her know you're a person without being an ass about it," Kerrigan said, with a shrug. "Hard as that might be to you. Takes a lot for a teep to push past the surface, especially on you hardshells."
