Right, like a little thing like being stuck as a sparkly ball of light is gonna stop Bridge from opening the library.

Which is why he asked Jen to come along to do the actual unlocking-the-doors part, since he can't exactly at the moment.

The library is open!

And there was a Sky, floating in for his usual visit ~~now at the right time because his mun's a moron~~.

"Hey," Bridge says, floating out from behind the stacks.

"Hi," said Sky. "Surprised you were able to come in today."

"Why wouldn't I?" Bridge asks, sounding confused. "I mean, it's my job."

"Well... you can't exactly open doors," Sky pointed out. "Or... well, do much of anything."

He didn't sound bitter or anything. Nope.

"I can fly," Bridge says. "That's pretty cool. As for the opening doors thing, that's what friends are for."

"I guess," Sky sighed. "I see our situation doesn't seem to particularly bother you, then."

"Well I can't say I'm *thrilled*," Bridge admits. "But it's on it's way to being fixed, and weirder stuff has happened to people here in Fandom, so I'm trying not to worry too muhc."

Another sigh. Sky, feeling restless and nervous, was floating back and forth as though he were pacing now.

"We've been like this for 5 days," he mumbled.

If Bridge were any good at the whole "sarcasm" thing, he might remark on how at least Sky hasn't lost his sense of time. "These things take time, dude. Dr. Manx said she's on the verge of a breakthrough, and I've got confidence in her. And, anyway, it could be worse..."

"I guess. I mean, we only can't eat or sleep or read or... do anything except talk and float. And we had to miss two classes thanks to this. But hey, otherwise this whole thing is just LOADS OF FUN," Sky grumped. He paced a few more times before moving to settle on a shelf, not speaking up for a while.

"...I'm scared," he finally blurted, wishing he could shrink into nothing after saying that.

"My friend Alanna's been turned in to a statue. More than once," Bridge points out quietly. "I think people even drew on her."

"Well, yes, you are used in order to you fill as this symvej'te in other persons!" said Sky... as, unbeknownst to him, one of the invisible Babel Fish had just swum through him. "Supporter fandom is still this way new and bizar to me!" He then stopped, puzzled.

"...What?"

"I do not have no idea," said Sky. "I think that Fandom is strange still. This is this way frustrating!"

"No kidding," Bridge says. "I'm not sure what you're trying to say, dude."

"I think that I am nuts active," said Sky. "I must be. They are a sparkling area of the light and that giraffes them fell yesterday from the sky."

"...This really *is* getting to you, isn't it?" Bridge floats closer to peer worriedly at Sky.

At that moment, the Babel Fish swum out to find its next victim, so Sky's next sentences were coherent.

"...Yeah," he said. "Yeah, it is." Were he himself, his eyes wouldn't be meeting Bridge's. "What I was trying to say is I sometimes wonder if I'm going crazy from... well, everything." Another huge sigh. "I have no idea what's going to happen when I wake up while I'm here and that... that bothers me. At least back home I can wake up and not, I don't know, make an idiot of myself by singing in public, or have melting giraffes falling from the sky." He snorted. "The lightball isn't really Fandom's fault, I guess."

...Yeah, if Bridge had a face- or a palm- he'd be facepalming right now. "No, that's our reality's fault. Which, I don't know if you've noticed, but compared to a lot of places people are from here, *it's* not exactly all that mundane."

"Well, not really," Sky admitted. "I just..." He was about to say even aside from that, there were times he STILL hated it at Fandom, but he didn't want to hurt Bridge's feelings again. "This is a whole different sort of weird than what I'm used to. And like I was trying to say before, you're USED to weird crap like this happening. You also actually know people from other universes, so you have a different perspective than I do. You're well-adjusted here. I'm NOT. I wish I could not be bothered by this at all, but that's not going to happen."

"Just because I'm trying to be optimistic doesn't mean this doesn't *bother* me," Bridge says. "Like I said before, I'm not thrilled to be stuck like this."

Sky began to pace again.

"Alright. Sorry," he said. "I need to stop acting and thinking like I'm alone here, I know, I know. I... I miss home." He glowed slightly less, which may have indicated shame. "I want to be human again, at least."

"Doctor Manx said she'd have another update for us this evening," Bridge says, trying to sound reassuring. "I'm sure she's almost there. I mean, she's one of the smartest people I know. And, okay, technically it was her project that got us stuck like this in the first place, but do you know anyone else who could create a planetary-based wormhole that didn't require a space shuttle to travel through in the first place?"

"No, I don't," said Sky. He drifted up close to Bridge so they could look eye-to-eye... as well as they could as sparkleballs. "OK. I'll try and be more optimistic, because Kat's never let us down before. Sorry for freaking out." He blushed, which was indicated by glowing a little brighter now. "If you want me to be honest? I... I miss being able to touch Troy. Even just hugging and kissing... It's frustrating. But again, it's not your fault, or Fandom's." He took a deep breath, then was horrified, as he'd almost kinda sorta implied to Bridge that he and Troy had done MORE than just hug and kiss, and hoped his friend wouldn't catch that.
