His plans to go tuxedo shopping soon must have been on Anakin's mind when he'd planned this week's lesson.


"Love is patient, love is kind," he began, then made the universal symbol for "blah, blah, blah" with his hand.

He might secretly be a soft touch on the subject, but he was hoping no one in the room would call him on it.

"In the Jedi Order, we were taught that in order to maintain proper distance, to negotiate impartially across our galaxy, we were to strive for serenity, not passion. To be proper Jedi, we should not know anger, or hatred, or love."

He crossed his arms over his chest and glanced around the room. "Is this an unreasonable standard to hold someone to? What do you think they were trying to prevent?"

"It's ridiculous," Rikku said, frowning. "I see where they're going, but if they wanted something without emotions, they should have made a machine for it. Being able to feel isn't a bad thing. If you throw out anger and hate and love, do compassion and pity and empathy go, too? It's who we are."
