A careful observer might note that Juli was looking mildly peaky today. A breakthrough in a project tended to make sleep scarce—especially when the breakthrough happens late at night. The snow giraffes she’d had to avoid on her way up to the school had only convinced her that she needed more sleep. Preferably right away.

Nonetheless, she was as neatly put together and composed as usual. Even slightly mirthful, but it was unlikely most of her students would recognize that. Once all her students had gathered. Juli smiled faintly and took a sip of her coffee. Mmmm. Coffee.

“I’m quite certain at least some of you have guessed the content of today’s class. Yes, midterms.” Thrilling. At least she didn’t have to do much talking today.

“Once you’ve received your test papers you may begin,” Juli said, “no two tests are alike, and I am looking for complete and well-thought answers. No matter your opinion I wish to see what reasoning you’ve got to back it up.”

She eyed the class, eyebrows quirking almost unnoticeably at the three sparkle-balls ~~assuming they’re around~~ she had instead of students and added dryly, “If you currently do not possess hands, or alternative means of writing, please see me once the exam has started.”

Yes. Juli needed more coffee for this.

“Begin.”

"You said all the questions are different, right?" Bridge asks.

"Yes," she said, "naturally some questions are similiar to others, but they are all different ~~and the mun nearly ripped her hair out making them like that~~, I assure you."

"Then I think I'll wait til later and take it as a written exam," Bridge says. "I just, if the questions were the *same*, I didn't want to take the chance that I might discuss answers with my classmates, inadvertently. But if they're different then I think it's fairly safe to say I won't have an unfair advantage," he's a big fan of not cheating.

As a teacher Juli approves of the not-cheating thing. As a person though, she's a bit amused by it. Just a bit.

"Of course," she said, making note of it, "it's not a problem." Juli glanced at him. "Then you are free either to stay and mingle with those who are already done their exams, or to leave, as you wish."

If Bridge had his powers in this form, he might wonder at the amusement. As it is, he can't sense it in this form, so instead he bobs up and down again, his sparkleball-version of a nod. "I think I'll go, ma'am, if it's all the same to you."

"As you will," she said, even more amused by the 'nod', "enjoy your day then, and I'll see you around, Mr. Carson."
