Maths For Real Life, Period 1, Class 8 [3/3]

Jean-Paul looked happy today. His happy look was especially distressing when one considered the large stack of papers at each student's desk. "Today is your midterm," he said cheerfully. "You may hand in your completed tax forms and begin. You may collect your graded tax forms at the end of class; use my corrections to file with the IRS before April fifteenth if you are indeed subject to the United States tax code." Then he sat back in his seat behind his nice desk to watch the fun. It would only take him about ten seconds to grade their tax forms, after all.

((There was going to be an actual midterm until I got a whole bunch of stuff due in the next three days dumped on me all at once, so, uh, just assume the midterm is A) practical and B) kind of evil and handwave a grade.))

Math!

...Liir dug in happily, every so often scritching the bunny sitting on his desk.

Jeff enjoyed math a whole lot.

Jeff even enjoyed math midterms. And doing them well.

Weirdo, Jeff. Weirdo.

Michael did not enjoy math.

He scowled at the paper, but set to doing his best.

It was, really, too early in the morning for him to feel anything but a bit of resignation over having to do this much work.

That being said, he was pretty good at math. Even half-asleep and wishing he was still in Mexico.

Robin did well on the midterm. About 85 percent.

Considering how it was mathematic, Adah probably couldn't have done poorly even if she tried.

Knowing this and not liking to fail anyway, Adah let her math-minded brain do its thing, finished early, but with a perfection that especially annoyed her.

Harry was again going to do an okay job. Not great, but nothing he was going to need to hang his head in shame about either.

He would probably have done better if he hadn't been so distracted by his sneakers. They kept sighing and he kept stomping, hoping that would help. It only made them sigh louder.

Cedric took the midterm and was surprised at how easily things were coming. He still probably made a few mistakes considering numbers were confusing but passed easily.
