Study Hall -- Tuesday, October 4th

Welcome to the study hall for Tuesday. If anybody's looking for me, the gremlins are on an upswing today, so I'll be prowling around with a cricket bat and a CD player with Music To Bash Things With.

A few announcements:

-- Please go here to participate in the roll call of student clubs so that we can make sure that all student clubs are accounted for.

-- The student body is reminded that any student going to Homecoming will need to purchase tickets. Homecoming elections will be held this Friday, and Homecoming is this upcoming weekend. Also, in student council news, the Student Council Election Debates will be held Wednesday night, with the election itself taking place on Monday.

-- In other news, five teaching positions will be listed later on today for your perusal. We are in need of new teachers, so please check that out when the post is made.

-- For some fucking reason, Locker 327 has been in reverse all morning long and has been randomly spewing strange things into the halls. Someone should be repairing it later in the week, but until then, be aware of the dangers and be on guard accordingly.

-- In related news, there's a mime loose on campus. And no, you're not allowed to kill it. You are, however, allowed to mock and point.

"Don't know," Angelus sat back, folding his arms across his chest. "Nobody will show me the poster." He paused, taking in her appearance. With a tone of voice of someone who would crack this lame joke upon being introduced to somebody named Miles O'Brady, he asked, "So... you come from a nice Polish background, I take it?"

((ooc: MARTY! Your poster-mad skillz are needed please!))

Duce's smile grows slightly, her bottom lip twitching with what might be humour and her eyebrows rise over the top of her glasses in mock surprise, "Oh, how ever did you guess? Is it the nose? It's the nose, isn't it? We told them we wanted a nosejob to get rid of the big Jewish schnozz for our Sweet 16, but no.. they had to go with the car.." Her chest heaves in a dramatic sigh, "Parents. They all suck."

Inclining her head in introduction, "Don't think we've been introduced, although we've seen you around. We're Medusa, but most people call us Duce. The Batsh*tCrazy girl on your left is our roommate, Wednesday."

[OOC: You need a poster big guy? I'll see what I can do. Photoshop is acting flaky today.]

[ooc: *snerk*]

"Pleasure to meet - " Angelus made a broad gesture, indicating her and the snakes " - you. So did you try killing them? Your parents, I mean."

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
The snakes bob many heads graciously at being acknowledged. Duce sighs dramatically, "According to legend, even as we exited the womb. Sadly, they're immune to stonegaze, and as we later found out, poison. A doctor and two nurses were, unfortunately, not so lucky." She pauses for a moment, "Although it did result in getting a peace garden named after us."

A shoulder raises in a shrug, "So, how 'bout you? Where we come from vrykolakas murder off their progenitors. Of course, they're also the reason many corpses are buried beheaded, with mouthfulls of garlic and crosses, but hey, that's Greek Orthodox for you."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hey, in my family birth doesn't count unless you claw your way out of your grave and then destroy your entire village before you go," Angelus shrugged. "Work, work, work..."

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"Mmmmm.. the good old days, before the legal system was anything more than a few pissed off farmers with torches and pitchforks.. From village razing to highschool. That had to be a serious bummer. How the hell'd you manage it?"

She sounds genuinely curious. Strangely, she also doesn't sound as though she disbelieves Angelus in the slightest.

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not bad," Angelus said. "Trickiest part was getting an invite back into the house, but fortunately my little sis always liked me. After that the big irony is the annoyance of wanting people to spread your legend far and wide, then remembering you've killed everyone who'd tell the tale. Newbie mistake, what can you do?"

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Duce gives a hiss of sympathetic annoyance, "A for effort, but you failed the delivery on that completely. We trust you've improved your terror tactics since then. We had a similar newbie mistake. Grabbed the hero, looked menacingly into his eyes as we tried to warn him and others like him to stay the hell out of our territory, and by the time we opened our mouth we had a fistfull of statue."

Eyeing her hands in reflection, she murmurs, "Had to smash my way out and it left a nasty hole. We've heard he's since been moved to a museum in Crete."

"So.. toaster, you say?"

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"Toaster oven," Angelus said. "Better for bagels."

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"Mmm.. Hell makes a tasty bagel," Duce quotes from Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. "Never thought evil would be like Amway, though. That rather frightens us."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"You assumed Amway wasn't evil?"

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
The eyebrow ring is visable over the rim of the glasses again, "Since when is evil lame? Come on.. rug cleaner?"

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"Okay, point," Angelus acknowledged. "Still, getting blood out of carpets is useful."

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
The other eyebrow joins the pierced one. "You do know that trick with baking soda, right?" Duce tsks, "Besides, Amway's rug cleaner is generic and barely takes off fresh gravemould. Pretty sure evil uses borax."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"I always liked club soda," Angelus said. "And Spike. He was always useful for getting stains out of carpets. Which makes sense since arguably he is one."

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"Spike.. the other vampire in town? We feel like we should be making some sort of gutter rug-munching/rug-tonguing joke here, for some reason." She affects innocence, "Can't imagine why."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, I've always thought Spike was a lesbian, it's okay."

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Duce snorts, "Well, he does look sorta dykey with that haircut and bad bleach job.. Y'know, you two sort of have the same hairstyle.. neat on the sides, messy on top, albeit his is more pompadour than yours."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"His is also more likely to snap off if you try to run your fingers through it," Angelus said. "Not that I'd know from experience, mind you."

OOC: Some of us didn't get that chance, as the entire village was destroyed while you were busy driving me insane and convincing me I was evil. And don't think I won't be making sure you make that up to me for the next 500 years, Daddy.

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[I spend all that time on giving you the perfect death and this is the thanks I get.]

(It would have been nice if you'd at least left my own mother for me to kill. Possibly even just an aunt or a second cousin thrice removed.)

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[Now you're just being ungrateful. Daddy gave them the best possible deaths and you know it.]
