Study Hall -- Tuesday, October 4th

Welcome to the study hall for Tuesday. If anybody's looking for me, the gremlins are on an upswing today, so I'll be prowling around with a cricket bat and a CD player with Music To Bash Things With.

A few announcements:

-- Please go here to participate in the roll call of student clubs so that we can make sure that all student clubs are accounted for.

-- The student body is reminded that any student going to Homecoming will need to purchase tickets. Homecoming elections will be held this Friday, and Homecoming is this upcoming weekend. Also, in student council news, the Student Council Election Debates will be held Wednesday night, with the election itself taking place on Monday.

-- In other news, five teaching positions will be listed later on today for your perusal. We are in need of new teachers, so please check that out when the post is made.

-- For some fucking reason, Locker 327 has been in reverse all morning long and has been randomly spewing strange things into the halls. Someone should be repairing it later in the week, but until then, be aware of the dangers and be on guard accordingly.

-- In related news, there's a mime loose on campus. And no, you're not allowed to kill it. You are, however, allowed to mock and point.

"Mmmmm.. the good old days, before the legal system was anything more than a few pissed off farmers with torches and pitchforks.. From village razing to highschool. That had to be a serious bummer. How the hell'd you manage it?"

She sounds genuinely curious. Strangely, she also doesn't sound as though she disbelieves Angelus in the slightest.

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not bad," Angelus said. "Trickiest part was getting an invite back into the house, but fortunately my little sis always liked me. After that the big irony is the annoyance of wanting people to spread your legend far and wide, then remembering you've killed everyone who'd tell the tale. Newbie mistake, what can you do?"

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Duce gives a hiss of sympathetic annoyance, "A for effort, but you failed the delivery on that completely. We trust you've improved your terror tactics since then. We had a similar newbie mistake. Grabbed the hero, looked menacingly into his eyes as we tried to warn him and others like him to stay the hell out of our territory, and by the time we opened our mouth we had a fistfull of statue."

Eyeing her hands in reflection, she murmurs, "Had to smash my way out and it left a nasty hole. We've heard he's since been moved to a museum in Crete."

"So.. toaster, you say?"

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"Toaster oven," Angelus said. "Better for bagels."

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"Mmm.. Hell makes a tasty bagel," Duce quotes from Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. "Never thought evil would be like Amway, though. That rather frightens us."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"You assumed Amway wasn't evil?"

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
The eyebrow ring is visable over the rim of the glasses again, "Since when is evil lame? Come on.. rug cleaner?"

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"Okay, point," Angelus acknowledged. "Still, getting blood out of carpets is useful."

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
The other eyebrow joins the pierced one. "You do know that trick with baking soda, right?" Duce tsks, "Besides, Amway's rug cleaner is generic and barely takes off fresh gravemould. Pretty sure evil uses borax."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"I always liked club soda," Angelus said. "And Spike. He was always useful for getting stains out of carpets. Which makes sense since arguably he is one."

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"Spike.. the other vampire in town? We feel like we should be making some sort of gutter rug-munching/rug-tonguing joke here, for some reason." She affects innocence, "Can't imagine why."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, I've always thought Spike was a lesbian, it's okay."

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Duce snorts, "Well, he does look sorta dykey with that haircut and bad bleach job.. Y'know, you two sort of have the same hairstyle.. neat on the sides, messy on top, albeit his is more pompadour than yours."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"His is also more likely to snap off if you try to run your fingers through it," Angelus said. "Not that I'd know from experience, mind you."

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
"We'd hope not, but at this school, we assume nothing about anyone's sexual preferences."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't consider it my place to pry," Angelus agreed. "So, I assume election-wise you're Batsh*t crazy all the way?"

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, we just like people to assume that. We haven't decided just who we're voting for yet. We've seen one decently detailed platform, so that's one person we're voting for. The rest? Hopefully they'll have their shit together by the time the debates roll around."

Duce shrugs, "You seem like a Batsh*tCrazy kind of guy yourself - that the way you're going?"

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Angelus shrugged. "Haven't decided yet. Figure we'll see how the debate goes. Though I don't think it's fair that those working hard for the write-in vote don't have a voice in them."

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Duce comments, "Not part of the official debates anyway.. but there's no school rule saying they can't have a seperate set, or even a head-to-head with their candidate of choice."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"You know I was just thinking that," Angelus leaned back in his chair, pushing it off the floor so that it rested on the rear two legs. "That'd take some organizing, though."

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
A bob of her head assents, "It would. You'd need to clear the use of a public space for them with administration, get the write-ins to pull their platform together in a cohesive manner, publish the platforms, make sure the write-ins are fully aware of the standard candidate's platforms enough so that they can debate them, get the standard candidates to agree to the debates all friendly-like, and make sure there's enough cookies and Kool-Aid for everyone."

Her head tilts slightly, "Not to mention publishing it far enough in advance that the student body knows it's happening, with enough flair that they actually give a shit about attending it. You might have better luck herding cats."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm going to meet with Bristow during his next office hours anyway," Angelus regarded Medusa thoughtfully. "If I can get approval for a second debate that includes the write-ins, can I get your help on organizing and publicity? I'll carry my share of the water, but four hands are better than two."

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Considering that, Duce grimaces slightly, "You're seriously going to try to get this going with less than a week until the election? We retract our earlier statement - you'd definitely have better luck herding cats than herding teenage politico-wannabes."

Shrugging, "Sure. Wednesday hasn't asked for my help, so there's no current conflict of interest. So who are your write-in candidates thus far?"

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Like the actual debate has much prep time?" Angelus pointed out. "And I hadn't gotten that far yet. Maybe just fling the floor wide open to anybody who's gone so far as to campaign for the write-in vote. Obviously we'd have to draw a line somewhere or in theory the entire school could be on that stage, but I think we could do this."

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"True." Duce scowls, "And stop that. It's contagious."

Glancing at the clock, she notes that study hall's about to end and she'll have to head to class, "We have class for the rest of the afternoon, but if you want to discuss tactics, we'll be available tonight."

Fumbling in a pocket for a moment, she profers a slightly worse for wear business card, "Our cell phone. We believe you have a standing invite to the Manor, since Wednesday never did get around to having that dinner party."

((ooc: Must run home. Back in an hour.))
