Driver's Ed [Wednesday, Period Four]

The Dangershop looked quite different this lesson, most notably with the sleek cars at the front of the class.

"Good afternoon class," Bond said, running his hand over the hood of the nearest car. "Today we're going to be discussing driving in adverse conditions. Now there are a number of hazards you might come across while driving, sometimes all at once. For example, rain, ice, snow, fog..." Bond lectured for a short while on the various adverse condition a person might drive under and strategies for soping with them.

"I've programmed the with a course that incorporates several of these conditions for you to complete," he continued. "However, we're going to do something a little different today. You've been randomly assigned into pairs. This is because driving with a passenger can sometimes be the most adverse driving condition of all. Each pair will then take turns to navigate the course. Aravis, since you were the odd one out, you'll be with me."

"Yeah, you can go ahead and drive first," Sam said, deciding to be nice and not comment on how Lee would probably fit better at first.

"Easy," Lee said, getting into the driver's seat and turning on the car.

Somewhat easy. "Seat belt?"

Sam was happy to strap himself in, not sure what Lee's driving would be like. "Good idea."

Lee's driving was probably pretty bad which is why, as soon as he turned on the car, he jammed his foot down on the gas, lurching the car forward.

Sam's eyes widened as he slid back in his seat, and he turned to look at Lee. "How much experience do you have with cars?"

"This class," Lee said, easing off on the gas only so he could take a turn a little sharply.

"Transports," Lee filled it, speeding up again but being very observant of the course. "I've never driven one before."

Sam grabbed the side of his seat to keep from shifting too far. "Okay, I probably should have asked that before we got in."

"That's why I'm taking the class," Lee said, slowing down and testing the brakes a bit too hard.

Sam's hands shot out as he braced himself against the dashboard. "That's good. Really. Cars are important knowledge. For the record, you don't have to press everything quite so hard."
