Library [02/07]

Bridge arrives at the library, a few minutes early as per usual. Also as per usual, he's got a nice big cup of coffee to keep him company.

Bridge spends most of first period processing returns at the desk while slowly sipping away at the coffee.

Second period, Bridge is off in Tactics class. But he'll be back!

During third period, he's reviewing all of his notes from this week. He can't help but frown as he reads over those from yesterday's class.

Lunch! Those who work here are welcome to stop by, but the library is otherwise closed.

During fourth period, he distracts himself from any lingering emo due to certain class discussions by looking for Valentine's Day present ideas.

And during fifth period, he's out wandering the stacks, reshelving all those returns he'd processed earlier in the day.

*flops* Bouts of slowplay if I actually decide to brave the weather and run outside for errand-ness.

Sky decided to wander in to visit Bridge after class, as had become his habit (except for last week, of course), hoping he wasn't too busy to talk for a bit. He still felt rather euphoric.

"Hey, dude," Bridge says, looking up and grinning as he catches sight of a much-more-cheerful Sky.

"Hey, Bridge," said Sky. "I hope I'm not bothering you..." He leaned against the counter, still fighting down that strange urge to bounce.

Z decided to knock this out before class, even if she was still teh sleepies. Her resolve lasted about as long as it took her to get down to the library. "You have coffee," she astutely observed.

Reno headed into the library, a man on a mission.

"Back issues of the Fandom High Times. You got 'em? I'll need 'em all, startin' where Rikku starts doing her article on Al Bhed, yo."

Hooray, slowplay! *thumbs up*

"It's morning," Bridge points out. "Thus, coffee. You want some?" it's a very, very big cup.

"Nah," Bridge says, pushing his reading glasses up on to his forehead. "Just reviewing notes from this week. And copying them out so they're neater and easier to read once finals roll around."

"Yeah, I've had to do that a lot," said Sky sheepishly. "When I'm upset, my handwriting goes downhill pretty past." OK, he decided, first things first. "Well, as to why I came here. I told Z yesterday, and I'll say it to you, too. I know I've been... kind of avoiding you two for the past week, in spite of all the times both of you, especially you, have extended offers of friendship, and I have absolutely no excuse for doing that except being a stubborn idiot. So... ...I'm sorry."

"Sure, dude," Bridge says, leading him over to where the back issues were kept. "Let's see, Rikku got here last January, so the first edition of the paper with her article would be... aha. Yes. February (http://community.livejournal.com/fhightimes/29912.html#cutid1)." He pulls that out and holds it out in Reno's direction, followed in quick succession with all the other issues of the paper with Rikku's article in them. "I'm Bridge, by the way."

"You don't need to apologize, really," Bridge says. "I mean, you've kind of had a lot dumped on you, from all directions," he tilts his head at Sky. "But you *do* seem happier, if you don't mind me saying as much."

Sky nodded. "I appreciate that you understand that. Still, you guys are my friends, and you don't deserve to be given the cold shoulder all the time. And you're right, I am happier... because, ah..." Sky's mind wandered back to last night.

And out came a bounce.

How undignified!

"Ah." He could feel himself going very red.

"Yes please," Z requested. "Then maybe I can think."

Bridge slides the cup over in Z's direction. "Thinking is good. I approve of thinking. Unless you're thinking of doing something bad, in which case I don't approve," he frowns. "You're not thinking of doing something bad, are you?"

"No." Mmmm delicious coffee. "As I tried to tell you while you were acting like a lunatic last week, I'm worried about Sky."

"...You just *bounced*." Bridge observes. He knows from bouncing, seeing as how "bouncy" is an accurate description of Bridge's state 90% of the time.

"I was not acting like a lunatic," Bridge says solemnly. "I was *on vacation*."

Z gave him A Look that suggested she didn't think these were mutually exclusive states of mind.
