When the students arrived in the Danger Shop for class it had been rearranged again--this time in series of cavernous rooms full of heavy furniture.

"Welcome to Afghanistan," Biff said with a smile. "Home of Balthazar, one of the creepiest magi ever. My friend Josh and I came here a couple thousand years ago to learn about the Tao. Well, Josh learned about the Tao. I learned about feng shui, which is dependent on something called qi, and then the rest of it I ignored because I was being taught by beautiful Chinese concubines and I got distracted easily."

He pointed at a series of small brass scales on a nearby table. "What I do know is that the qi in all of those rooms is totally screwed up. You take these brass scales and someone who looks good at lifting heavy objects and start moving things around until the qi is balanced again. When the little brass scales balance, you've completed the task."

Biff, it might be a little obvious, didn't really hold a lot of stock in the idea of feng shui. He just wanted them to move furniture around for an hour.

"It's a lot of fun," she grinned. "Thought you weren't the type to try out?"

Snort.

"I don't cheerlead. I'll leave cheer to the ones who look cute in miniskirts, yo."

She giggled. "So you're just gonna be one of the guys who shows up to watch?"

"I can show up to watch?"

Reno liked this notion.

This was not exactly a stinkeye, because it was too amused. But the two were probably related.

"Look who just found a new hobby."

"Better than drinking. Unless it's drunken cheer spectating. I could get into that, yo."

"Then you might yell rude things and get kicked out," Rikku said.

"Don't have to be drunk for that," Reno pointed out. "You still got that toy chopper?"

"Of course I do," she laughed. "How come you keep thinking I'm gonna throw it away?"

"Hardly compares to the real thing," Reno replied with a shrug of his shoulders. "I vote we piss on this Wutai-Feng-Shit and go terrorize people with that, instead."

Rikku shook her head. "No can do. I'll get detention."

"What, you never got detention before?" Snort. Good kids. Heh. "I got two lined up already. Can't be that bad, yo."

"Then the last thing you need is another one," she said. "And I've had a few. They're usually kinda fun, actually, but if you say that they get all mad at you."

"If they're fun, I'm gonna have to get a few more," Reno pointed out.

"You should get detention for something better than just skipping," she shrugged. "Like the time we got busted on the mutiny. Or when I suckerpunched Sokka right in the middle of Fandom Peril. Totally worth it."

"So far, both detentions I got were Ron's fault," Reno mused. "Skipping is some sorta huge act of rebellion right now, or something."

Given that he was supposed to attend his classes, as per ShinRa orders.

"Not even," she said, shaking her head. "I mean, bringing the chopper to class and bugging people, maybe. Storming into Hades's office and serenading him, totally. Skipping just sort of ... lacks oomph."

Reno considered that for a moment more.

Okay, so maybe she was a rebel. Or something. Kind of.

"Guess it depends what it is you're skippin' to do, yo."
