Applied Inventiontronics, Period 4 - Week 5

Today, Inventiontronics was in the Danger Shop. Said Danger Shop looked a lot like a rural 1950's American town. Nice, normal little town, except for that creepy floating dude, and the fact that all the people were robots in various states of disrepair.

The zipperheaded man responsible was standing under the welcome sign, notes in hand, waiting for everyone to gather around.

"Hello, class!" Gosh, he was cheery. "Today, you're going to be repairing the good folks of Milltown. They're all ready and able to tell you how to fix them. Think of it as a walk-through. Ask them whatever questions you need to, they don't bite no matter how angry they look in the icons and are waiting with tools over there."

Glitch pointed over to the main street where six robots, counting the weird floating one, were scattered on steps and porches. Each one had a toolbox sitting near them.

"You can work together, if you like, or work alone. It's up to you. They'll let me know how you did when everyone is finished. Now go on," he started to herd them towards the robot people, "start working!"

[ooc: Wait for the OCD of roboty doom is up!]

Liir knew he should probably focus on the work for class, but he couldn't help looking around. After all, this was a recreation of a bit of the O.Z., his own homeland who knew how many centuries in the future. He wandered the street for a few minutes before he got to the statue...

And he stared. Because it was--

It--

He--

He'd--

Liir approached Professor Ambrose, somewhat shellshocked but thankfully functional. In his hand was a small, sweetsmelling bag which he held out to the professor.

"I didn't get a chance to give you any chicken," he said. "So I thought you might like these."

Willow would certainly try to be less scary than a robot.

Willow gave a little wave. "Hi!"

He stepped over and, even though he knew it wasn't real, he knew somewhere, somewhen it was real and that was enough for him right now.

He touched the base, rounded his fingers along the lines and curves, then stared up again.

"It's... summer ice," he said, only a little nervously. The class had been, er, interesting after all. And on top of the night before it, he felt like he was made of spun sugar.

"A treat. And yes, there was chicken last Thursday night. I was going to bring you some Friday, but I ended up not having quite enough."

He looked speculatively at the friendly looking older man, green eyes bright with some unspoken, unknown emotion.
