Fandom High School Host Club - Sunday, February 3 - Music Room: Late Afternoon

Tamaki had arrived a little early in order to attempt beautifying the music room. It was nothing like the unused third music room at Ouran Academy, but he'd managed to dress it up a bit with several flower-filled vases. On a stray piano bench, he had placed a tray containing tea and finger foods just in case his future hosts got hungry. Snacks and tea were part of the Host Club ambience, although they were normally for the guests.

Once he was sure his hopefuls were about and had gotten comfy, he faced them with a huge grin, spreading his arms wide in a slightly over-dramatic gesture of welcome.

"Gentlemen," he said, his voice nearly quavering with excitement, "Welcome to the Fandom High School Host Club!" Lowering his arms once again, he began to pace back and forth, occasionally appraising his audience as he spoke. "If you are here, you have volunteered to donate your precious time to those who most deserve it: Lovely young ladies, who also have time, who will be here to see you. Yes, you!" He nodded for emphasis before resuming.

"Of course, there are certain requirements that one must have in mind when it comes to being a Host," he warned, his voice taking on a serious tone. "Each one of you must choose a 'type'. Why is that so important, you ask? Because, my dear Host Club hopefuls," he purred, wagging a finger at all of them, "Your 'type' is the very thing that defines your role as Host! Take me, for example. I am, as you can obviously see, a 'Prince Type'. I am handsome and romantic!" As if to prove this point he struck a regal pose and ran his fingers through his golden hair in a shower of randomly materializing bishounen sparkles, grinning devastatingly at the camera no one in particular.

"Now, I would like each one of you to tell me what you think makes you stand out from the crowd. What are your talents and unique traits? How do your looks correlate with that? Do they fit well with the traits you have in mind? If you're going to say that you're the 'cool' type, then you'd better be looking cool. You cannot claim to be a certain type if you do not look the part! I cannot stress that enough!" He balled his right hand into a fist and slammed it into his other hand's open palm, seemingly glaring at his host hopefuls, but not actually being angry. In fact, a moment later, he was back to his cheery self.

"Lastly," he said jovially, "You are required to provide the young ladies with the answers they may wish to be hearing. Therefore, I shall be assessing your ability to entertain. Tell me: If a girl were to ask you something such as 'Why are you so gorgeous,' then what would your response be? Whatever you say reflects upon you as a host, so answer carefully." He gave them a stern look for about half a second, then returned to smiling. "That's all for now. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have."

Although he understood Fandom could be a weird place, this was something he had yet to see. So startled was Tamaki that he shrieked like a girl and dove behind the nearest piece of furniture.

"Um, I'm a writer and a basketball player?" he didn't seem sure this was what Tamaki wanted to hear.

Tamaki took this into consideration, eyeing Lucas up and down as he did so. Finally, he gave a slow nod. "A writer? What kinds of things do you write about? Do you, perhaps, compose poetry?"

"Mostly I write about life, my friends, how things change," Lucas replied. "But I wouldn't say no to poetry."

"Would you say, then, that you are... artistic?" Tamaki asked, cocking his head to the side. "If not, then what would you say instead?"

"I seem to have some small skill at cooking," he said carefully. Green green eyes peered curiously at Tamaki, hoping that this answer will be acceptable.

"And, er, I can fly a broom?"

He didn't address his looks. They were something he addressed as little as possible, in fact. A childhood of being the bulkiest child of the four followed by a long period of being the only child had taken any sort of aesthetic understanding of himself from him before it could have even formed.

That said, the boy himself wasn't unattractive, not in the least. Deep black curls, long feathery lashes, brilliant green eyes, good skin, aristocratic features, and a lithe, solid build came together to form an altogether handsome picture that was only somewhat taken away from by the hint of a cower in his posture.

He was working on that, though from an entirely different angle than 'posture'.

Taking careful note of Liir's striking features, he nodded his approval.

"If this is anything like the last host club I started," he said, "Then women will be cooking for you. A whole lot." He smiled, remembering how many countless starstruck girls had brought him homemade cakes and goodies, all clamoring for him to try their work.

"Of course, several young ladies nowadays are very impressed by a gentleman who can cook for himself." As the words left his lips, he realized that, with that in mind, he was exceedingly glad he was in Lulu's cooking class. "Would you be willing to flaunt that at host club meetings, then? You would have to bring in something to offer your designations, if that was the case."

The green eyes brightened. Of course he could cook something for whoever he would be hosting for. That was simple enough. He'd planned on that already! And telling people that he could cook? He didn't mind that at all.

Tamaki was very pleased indeed, and this fact was reflected easily by his facial expression.

"Wonderful! Then, I dub you..." He paused, mostly for the purpose of suspense. Suddenly, he pointed dramatically at Liir. "...the
'Domestic' type!"

Yeah, he'd totally made that one up. It maybe even sounded sort of weird. However, in his weird little Tamaki brain, it was completely justified. And perfect, of course. Every idea of his was absolutely perfect. Every single one!

Tamaki quizically raised his eyebrows at the pimp hat.

"Warrior, hm?" He frowned, but it was a pensive one rather than angry. "Well, I just appointed Teddy as the 'Heroic Type', so we'll have to dig deeper than that."

"What's wrong with 'Awesome Type'?" Sokka protested. "Besides, Teddy's a superhero. I'm the regular kind."

Reno was late and grouchy and hated everything and was going to glower at Tamaki.

"I know at least three dozen different ways to kill a man and hide the body."

He decided that this was as good an answer as any, today.

Suddenly, Tamaki wasn't quite sure that recruiting Reno to be a Host was a sound idea. He froze with fear, save for one twitching eyebrow.

Reno crossed his arms in front of his chest, smirked, and leaned backward a little.

"An' I look damn good while I'm doin' it, too."

This was more the Reno Tamaki was accustomed to, so he was able to pull himself out of his fear-induced stupor. However, he was at a loss for words. He didn't think that 'Murderous Type' would net too many designations. So, he stood there, with his mouth open, looking akin to a very surprised fish.

"I'm good at talking," Jack said. "Yessir, that's me. I'm a fighter, and a planner, and one day I'll own my own truck and be a businessman." He leaned back in his chair, hands behind his head.

He left it unsaid that he had better hair than that Sokka kid.

Immediately, Tamaki brightened. "A businessman, you say," he repeated, forming a grin as the words left his lips. "I believe I have just the type for you, however, how do you feel about managing the clubs finances and marketing?

"We get paid for this?" Jack sat up all straight-like. "I believe that I can appropriately manage the funding and support our club can garner," he said, faint grin on his face.

"It's very important," he stressed, still grinning. "If you believe you can do it, I would be happy to put my trust in you! I like a confident man!" He raised a hand and waved it in the air, then pointed at Jack.

"You, sir," he said with enthusiasm, "Are this Host Club's 'Cool Type!"

Sure, Jack wasn't Kyouya, but he wanted to be a businessman and he was willing to do the finances. It all worked out!
