As the students came into the Dangershop, they would have seen that it was set up much like any other class room, barring the Bentley at the front of the class Bond was nonchalantly leaning against, wearing one of his better suits. Anyone suspecting he had been using it to test out the Dangershop before the students had come in would have been on the right track.

"My name is James Bond," he said, after the last students had arrived, not offering up any further information about himself. "And I will be taking you for Driver's Education this semester. Within school hours, you may call me Professor Bond, or Sir, outside of school hours...well, we'll see about that."

"First things first, I'd like to ask to take one of each of the three handouts at the front of the class, there's a syllabus, the class roster, and a list of the rules I expect you to follow while you're in my classroom. The syllabus may or may not be subject to change, but I trust that I will not have to alter the other two documents."

After pausing to allow that message to sink in, and for the students to collect the handouts, Bond continued. "Secondly, given it's our first lesson, I would prefer to know something about all of you before I put you behind the wheel of a car, simulation or no. So I would like you all to tell me your names, a bit about yourselves, why you chose to take this class, and what experience or knowledge of cars and driving, if any, you already possess."

"Oh, and if Miss Tarkheena could stay behind after class. I have some things I'd rather like to discuss with her."

"If I wasn't a gentleman, would I worry about being seen as overly familiar with one of my students?" Bond asked, all innocence. "Especially when that student was my assistant?"

"...what?"

"My teaching assistant," Bond said. "Surely you didn't think I asked you to stay back to discuss titles and lacks of surnames."

"Why in the name of all that's holy would you want me as your teaching assistant?" she asked incredulously. "I don't even know how to drive. I've only ridden in cars a handful of times at all."

"I have my reasons," Bond replied. Not least of which was this way he could keep an eye on her, just in case.

"They sound like stupid reasons."

"Far from it," Bond replied coldly.

Aravis rolled her eyes. "So what do I have to do?"

"Help with lessons, cover the class if I'm unavoidably detained, that sort of thing."

He debated telling her to bring coffee too, but decided that might lead to getting poisoned, and he wouldn't have anyone handy to fix the defibrillator this time.

"How the hell would I help with lessons?" she asked. "Or teach?"

Logically, she thought.

Bond did have an idea for two about the midterm, lurking next to a few of those feelings he didn't really want to analyse.

"You seem a bright girl, I'm sure you'll be able to handle it if the situation comes up."

"Yes, that's the day we'll all go out to the stables and take turns learning to ride my roommate's horse," she decided.

That wasn't true. She wouldn't abuse poor Trenor like that.

She'd just learn how to program this weird room.

"Your roommate might object to having his horse abused like that," Bond pointed out, having something of a fondness for horses himself.

"Then I will take everyone to Archenland and we'll ride there. We have several horses there," she decided illogically.

"You would go to another country and back in the same lesson?" Bond asked with the hint of a smirk.

"Time works funny there," she replied, smiling.

"Does it now?" Bond asked. "Wouldn't that mean you risk being incredibly late back?"

"Or very early. I think I'd know better than you."

"I imagine you would. At least as far as this is concerned."

"Most things, really."

"That I doubt."

"It's your prerogative to be wrong, should you like."

"Given I have more knowledge and experience than you, I'd hardly think that's the case."

"You don't know that."

"Don't I?"
