Study Hall, Monday, January 7

After his stop in the teacher's lounge, Fraser made his way to the classroom and opened it up for the semester's first study hall.

He took a seat at the desk with some leftover paperwork and proceeded to ignore it for the most part. Paperwork was boring.

[OCD going is up!]

Romeo leaned his head to one side, considering how to phrase it. "They make it sound as if our lives have far more glamour and far less sorrow than they do," he said. "There was some tragedy last summer -- lives lost -- and they took glee in it. What is it for your family?"

The word sorrow was always such a sad word to Amber. Her expression softened and she moved her hand from her chin, instead folding her arms across the desk, peering at him with compassion in her eyes. "I'm sorry for your tragedy, Romeo. It's always such a shame when lives are lost. Hard to imagine anyone ever takin' glee in the death of others." 'Course it didn't bother Amber too much that Becky Leeman was blown up riding a swan float.

"I was blamed for the death of another girl. Her ma took a shotgun after me and was arrested for it, but it would seem she has escaped and the law is lookin' for her."

"I thank you," Romeo said softly, tilting his chin up for a better view of Amber. "And fie on the mother, then. She shall have her reward someday, but mayhap not at the hands of man."

[OOC: Heading off for the night, but this was fun!]

She nodded, smiling gently. "She will. I know she will."

[Thank you! It really was!]
