Combined Mathematics Final [Friday 12-21, Period 4]

"The time has come," the Canadian said, "to talk of many things. All of them are math. And you will be writing them, rather than speaking." Jean-Paul was not mean enough to give an oral exam.

Jean-Paul momentarily disappeared, and there was a breeze around the classroom. Then he was back in front of his desk and each student had an exam. "You may use calculators and scrap paper. Begin."

"Buh?" Charlie stared at the extra credit, and tried to think about this using math. Math?

Right. What Would Rodney Do?

I would build a time travel machine and go back in time to un-do the zombie'ing, using math. Also, something with fractals. I'm pretty sure zombies can't do fractals, even if they're ninjas.

There!

Ronan outlined briefly the mathematical structures used to construct a spell that would, theoretically, return the ally to their normal state, removing any added evil, zombie, and/or ninja.

Of course, 'brief' in this case took three pages of single-spaced writing and diagrams.

Rodney cooked up a plan that involved calculating the precise frequency of the zombie's limited brainwaves. He then described how he'd construct a device that would disrupt that frequency and thus render the zombie back into a regular corpse. There were graphs.

Beat him with that underappreciated tool, the slide rule.

That's about as far as my battle planning goes.

Under the assumption that is a zombie was a ninja, the zombie actually had to have higher brain functions and intelligence than the normal zombie, Adah simply wrote out that proof where 1=2 (http://www.math.toronto.edu/mathnet/falseProofs/second1eq2.html), in hopes that it would just blow its oddly functioning mind with its impracticality, and, therefor, rendering him useless. Because everyone knew the way to kill a zombie was by removing the head or, in this case, destroying the brain.
