"We could just stay away from trolls altogether?" Bridge suggests. "Especially the kind who were here last year because the girl trolls would try and steal you and that'd make me sad."
Xander's experience with trolls extends to one very large male one who used to be human before he cheated on Xander's first prom date. "There are girl trolls?"
Come to think of it, Isabel may have mentioned something about that at some point.
"Yes. And they tried to kidnap all the good-looking guys and keep them for themselves and I'd throw my crutches at them if I had to if they tried to get you even if I couldn't exactly fault their taste."
"Maybe," Bridge says. "But if I didn't actually succeed in driving them away from you then at least I'd be *with* you and I'm okay with that. Or, if you did escape I know you'd come back later to rescue me," he points out logically.
"I would," Xander agrees. "But maybe we could just stay away from trolls altogether." He says it like it's his idea and Bridge didn't just say that three minutes ago.
"Oh. Well. Yes. I agree. New Year's resolution?" Not that he's entirely sure it'd be possible to keep such a resolution given, well... them being them and Fandom being Fandom.
"You know, that song from... well, this is one of those 'longer ago for you than for me' things. A bunch of us sang it one night at Caritas. You were there." He glances around quickly to make sure no one's in the library- yes, it's lunchtime and the likelihood of that is low, but still. "Our love was no joke, you know it was the talk of downtown Tokyo, we'll be happy forever I promised her, but just as I proposed, her feet were made to touch her nose as she was crushed by a Japanese monster..."
