Adam frowned slightly, not sure if they were friend or foe. He crouched down lower, not about to give up his position. He was still able to see the marines, keeping as still and quiet as he could.

"Sarge, are you hearin' somethin'?" the marine at the front asked, heaving his gun up.

"Just some birds, Pete," 'Sarge' replied, irritably. "Can't let them rebels get you jumpy."

The third marine was quiet, searching the surrounding foliage with his eyes. He thought he'd noticed something...

That would be Adam not moving, at all.

Using his rifle to brush away some leaves and vines, the third marine moved carefully in Adam's general direction.

Well, crap.

That wasn't good. Adam looked around him, trying to find a better spot to move to, without making noise to attract the marines.
