Prophecy in Theory and Practice, Tuesday Second Period (12/11)

Along with the usual pastries and hot drinks, the table in the center of the room was piled with review materials and all manner of fortune-telling paraphenalia.

"We're nearly to the end of our term, so today we'll review for your final exam. You have a couple of choices for how you spend your class period today. You may work on your own or with your classmates, reviewing the handouts I've provided and your own notes or practicing the prophecy methods we've done in class. Your final will include a practical application element, so I suggest that you make certain you feel relatively proficient in at least two of the hands-on methods we've covered. I am available, of course, for any questions you might have."

"I think we will. I'm, um, going for a room with a jacuzzi tub." Andrew smiled a little deviously.

"Neil is apparently really good at the skiing thing, but I just want to be prepared, you know, in case conditions dictate spending most of our time indoors."

"How grand," she said with cute lift of her brow. "Nothing says ski resort like a hot jacuzzi tub in your room."

She nodded. "He strikes me as one to be good at skiing. He's a great dancer so I can see him skiing really very well." Annette blushed slightly. "Right. Just in case. Good to think ahead like that Andrew."

"Is it bad that I'm hoping for like a terrific blizzard or a horrible ice storm, so we can avoid the slopes all together?" Andrew had high hopes for this Christmas break.

Annette gave him a sweet smile. "No. Not at all... I would think Neil would appreciate your thoughtfulness did he know what you were thinking." Yes, because Annette considered a blizzard or ice storm thoughtful if it kept two people indoors to do... nice things together.

How come Dick never ever asked her to do anything?

Something was just way wrong with her.

"Do you have any plans for the break? Heading home to be with the family?" Andrew asked.

"I'm not sure yet, but most likely, yes," she answered. "I'm an only child so I imagine my parents will be very upset with me if I don't go home."

"Yeah. I'm going to send some presents home, but I don't think Tucker will be too upset if I'm not in Sunnydale for the the holidays." Andrew didn't even factor his aunt into the 'family' equation anymore.

"What is Neil going to do? He's not going home?"

"He's made a deal with his father that if he gets straight A's, he can spend his holiday away. So I'm helping him study. Like whoa." Andrew grinned.

"Aw, that's nice of you," she said, smiling. "I hope it works out for the both of you and that you two have a great holiday together."

"Thanks, Annette!" Andrew stood up. "Okay, back to it. There is scrying mirror over there calling my name."
