Prophecy in Theory and Practice, Tuesday Second Period (12/11)

Along with the usual pastries and hot drinks, the table in the center of the room was piled with review materials and all manner of fortune-telling paraphenalia.

"We're nearly to the end of our term, so today we'll review for your final exam. You have a couple of choices for how you spend your class period today. You may work on your own or with your classmates, reviewing the handouts I've provided and your own notes or practicing the prophecy methods we've done in class. Your final will include a practical application element, so I suggest that you make certain you feel relatively proficient in at least two of the hands-on methods we've covered. I am available, of course, for any questions you might have."

Andrew was gazing intently into a crystal ball. He was determined to get his inner eye to show him what grades he would get on his finals.

Chris was studying. Of course.

Chris was around.

He'd be happy to talk to anyone, provided they could tear him away from his studying.

Andrew plopped down next to Annette. "You really shouldn't worry," he said. "The cards told me that you were going to ace this exam."

He nodded intently. "Or it was telling me that small animals were going to eat all of your notes. But I'm pretty sure that couldn't be right."

"Andrew," Annette replied softly, looking over at him with amusement twinkling in her eyes. "What did the cards tell you about your exam?"

"Well the cards didn't really give me anything substantial, but I had a cup of tea yesterday morning that really put my mind at ease." He smiled at Annette.

"Oh, and look!" He held up his palm and pointed to a few random lines. "I'm going to have six children by two different marriages!" He really hadn't thought about the logistics behind that prediction.

Annette raised her brows, smiling back at him. "Tea is good for comfort. You shouldn't worry; you'll do great."

Really wanting to giggle at him, she held back, tilting her head and leaning slightly forward to study his palm. "Are you sure you read those lines right because six children... wow."

"I always knew I was virile! I've been thinking of names. Too bad palmistry really doesn't give you the sex of your child though, you know? Maybe I should consult a Ouija board. What do you think of Renfrack for a boy's name?"

Of course Andrew had consulted a book on powerful demonic designations.

"Uhh..." Was he serious? Yeah... she pretty much thought so. Laughing would not be good for his sprout of ego here. "I think I might drop the frack, Andrew. It just doesn't sound right and you know, your wives just might have a say so in how you name all these children."

Re: Study, Chat, Etc.

[identity profile] wannabe-pan.livejournal.com 2007-12-11 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"True." Andrew looked puzzled. Frowning at his palm, he said, "But wait, I don't like girls that way."

He shook his hand and looked again. "I think my palm might be broken."

Re: Study, Chat, Etc.

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2007-12-11 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Annette held out her hand, palm up, "Let me see... and you know, in this day and age, not liking girls that way does not mean you can't have children. There is adoption or... well," she wasn't exactly sure but she thought... "you, like, ask as your friend or something to carry your baby for you."

Re: Study, Chat, Etc.

[identity profile] wannabe-pan.livejournal.com 2007-12-11 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Andrew placed his hand in Annette's. "You think any of my friends would carry my baby?" He wasn't sure how he felt about that. "Maybe it means I adopt. I would like to adopt. I want to have a family."

She stared down intently at his hand. "I think if you had an exceptionally close friend, they would do almost anything for you," she commented as she studied the lines on his palm. "How come you are thinking about this now anyway, Andrew? You're so young... and see? You've got a long life line..."
