When everyone entered the class they found Qui-Gon standing up at the front of the classroom and no Anakin in sight.

"Hello," Qui-Gon said when everyone had settled.

"Master Anakin is... ah.... rather indisposed at the moment." With a faint smile, he pointed to the small Jedi action figure sitting on the edge of the desk who had been posed with an arm above his head waving. "No, I don't know why he's suddenly an action figure. I just plan on ~~taking full advantage~~ keeping him safe until he's not anymore.

"Luckily, when I ~~broke into~~ checked his office, I found Master Anakin's notes for this class so we can do more than stare at the action figure. Today's topic is lust." Qui-Gon paused to change the pose on the Anakin figure so now he looked like he had his hands over his ears. "A topic that is not for the faint of heart or toys under two feet tall.

"If you're a healthy normal member of a species that reproduces sexually, it is pretty much a given that you will feel attraction for another at some point. There's nothing wrong with that. There's nothing inherently wrong in acting on that attraction if all parties are consenting and you don't turn off your brain when you do so.

"Like many other so called carnal sins, lust in itself is just a feeling. It only becomes a problem when we let it take over and do our thinking for us." He smiled again faintly. "Hormones are not generally the best decision makers. Leaving the decisions up to them will tend to lead you into all sorts of trouble.

"Master Anakin, had arranged an assignment that is supposed to let us all experience for ourselves one possible outcome if we ever mistake our hormones for our brains." Qui-Gon went behind the desk and picked up a tiny droid. "From his notes, these are programmed to simulate infants that we are to take care of. They include sensors that record whether the care is good or whether they've been chucked in a closet until next class. It appears we are all parents for the next week." Another grin. "So congratulations, it's a droid.

"They are also programmed to act like a very young child which means there will be a lot of loud crying," Quii-Gon continued. "Some of it may even be the droid.Anakin also left a list of who is to co-parent with who. I, and several other students apparently made very bad lust induced choices and so have found themselves single parents. But most of you will have a co-parent to share the responsibility with.

"So as I call your names, please come up and retrieve your droid."

"If it's taken care of, why does it matter?" Kabuto blinked at Ino, tilting his head to the side. "I'm sure it would earn us a low mark if I took it apart, which I will do if you leave it with me."

"Because we're supposed to be 'experience for ourselves one possible outcome if we ever mistake our hormones for our brains'." Ino quoted the lecture word-for-word, "And foisting this off on my Dad is not a viable solution. I'm not explaining to him how we ended up with a very fake child-thing."

"So then I'm allowed to take it apart?" Kabuto asked, completely serious. "It's not living, sadly, but I'm sure I could devise something..."

"Well..." Ino hedged, looking down at the droid, "I'm pretty sure that'd get us a fail too. But..." Okay, thing was, she thought taking it apart would be way more fun than taking care of it for a week, but Ino also didn't want to fail Ethics. "Would you treat your real kid like that?"

Did she really want to know?

"Do you have to ask?" No, really. "If it couldn't live through it, then it was too weak to begin with. Not that, with my skill level, it would actually die." Confident? Maybe a little...

Ino stared at him. "What the hell was older me thinking, having your kids?"

"You would know better than I would," Kabuto replied. "I think older you is mildly crazy. But not because she married me."

"Excuse me?" She glowered at him, "I wasn't crazy! Why would you think that?" Okay, maybe she'd been just a 'little' off, but still. Ino wasn't going to let him insult her like that.

Kabuto snickered. "Right. Not crazy. So if you were perfectly sane, then you should be able to come join us over in Sound?"

Ino gave him a withering look, "I joined for many reasons! And I'm not joining Sound!"

"You just plan to later," Kabuto added. "Take the robot baby, or it's getting dismantled tonight."

"I'm not taking it the whole week." Flatly. "No way."

"Then forget about your grades." Kabuto smiled. "It's your choice."

Ino Glared. "You realize that if I take this thing for the week you're going to be seeing a lot more of me than normal." Because then she'd be able to share her pain. Oh yes.

"No, I won't. You'll be fine." A beat. "Okaasan."

She kicked at him. Hard. "Don't call me that!" And yes, he totally would.

Kabuto was tempted to leave class via ninja means. A quick glance at the clock, and he figured he could risk a Shunshin no Jutsu, or quick-step. Which meant he was suddenly no longer there. Mm, cop outs.

She stared down at the droid. "I'm going to kill your father by the end of this week." Painfully.
