Keeping Your Wits About You... [Monday 2nd Period 10-11] Class # 13 DANGER ROOM

Once again they were meeting in the Danger Room!

Wilson was leaning against the table with all the morning treats, sipping his coffee and looking vaguely amused. As soon as everyone was gathered and had their coffee, tea, whatever he cleared his throat and called them over to listen to their latest Danger Room assignment.

"Good morning," he began, setting his coffee off to the side and putting his hands in his pockets.

"So far this semester, we've focused on keeping your wits about you when it was just yourself. Today we're going to tackle something infinitely more tricky."

Looking a bit rueful, he grinned at them.

"Today, you're going to be attempting to navigate ways to protect others who seem hell bent on self destruction. Believe me when I say, it will be hard to keep your wits calm, while at the same time trying to be one step ahead of the reckless behavior of others."

Something Wilson -coughthankyouHousecough- had plenty of experience with.

"As I call your name, you'll go into the scenario. I'd give you all hints about what's on the other side of that door but most of the time, these situations are feel it out as you go. Everybody ready? Okay. Good luck!"

"Fire breathing," Isabel nodded, still chuckling. "Of course. How incredibly appropriate."

Savannah's lips were twitching as she tried not to laugh.

"He flies, too. Has wings."

"Of course," she said as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "Does he chase after pigeons?"

[BTW? RL sort of owns me till after 7ish. So I might have to go poof every once in a while.]

Johnny made what could have been an offended growl, but Savannah started giggling. "No. He hasn't been outside alone. We're afraid something bigger will get him and that would be bad."

[[OOC: That's okay, I will be poofing in and out due to migraine.]]

Like a flock of annoyed pigeons, Isabel thought but didn't say. No reason to make him a cranky dragon.

"Don't worry Johnny, you're still cute. Just a bit more leathery then normal."

Savannah's eyes widened and she had to bite her lip for a moment so as not to laugh.

"Gods, if he remembers any of the conversations I'm bound to have about him when's he's back to normal... I'm the one who may need to find a couch to sleep on."

She patted Dragon!Johnny's head. "He's a pillow hog," she supplied, her eyes twinkling.

"If it's anything like when I was a dog? He's going to remember it all," Isabel warned. "And yeah, a pillow hog doesn't surprise me in the least. Of course it gives a whole new meaning to the idea of morning breath when there's actual flames."

"I remembered about half of things when I was a panther cub." Savannah smiled. "He has yet to accidentally burn me, so that's good."

"He's looking out for you like always," she smiled.

Savannah got a soft smile on her face. "He always watches out for me. He thinks it's his job to keep me safe." She looked at Isabel. "He's stubborn, you know?"

"No! Really?" Isabel tease. "I never noticed."

That made Savannah grin as the dragon pulled lightly on her hair. "I was worried I might be holding him back and -- ow!" Johnny had yanked on a strand of her hair. "That's attached you know!"

She looked back at Isabel with mischief in her eyes. "I wonder if hair dyes work on dragon skin..."

"I don't know that I'd do hair dye. But I bet you could paint his nails," Isabel suggested. "A nice bright pink"

Savannah fought back a giggle. "Oh, I think he'd look adorable with pink nails on his cute little claws."

The look she gave Isabel said she was aware how much trouble she could get into.

"Oh! I could find a sweet little jacket for him... you know like the ones they make for small dogs?"

Judging by the look Dragon!Johnny flashed her, Isabel was doomed for suggesting the nail painting. In which case, she was going out with a bang.

"And a little bow tie. Definitely a tie."

"He would look quite handsome in a suit jacket and bow tie with his pink claws..."

Oh yes, she was going to hell... but she'd have fun condemning herself to that.

She'd have company.

"Don't forget the top hat."

"Oh yes, we can't have a suit and tie without the top hat."

Johnny's claws dug into her shoulder only slightly, but from the look he gave both girls, it was obvious he was pouting at them.

In for a buck in for a quarter.

"But it should be something else besides black..."

"Maybe the same shade of blue as his fire suit?" Isabel suggested. "It would work with the pink nails."

The look Savannah gave her was clear on how awesome she thought she was.

"And it's a color we know he likes..."

"There you go," she chuckled. Unable to help herself, she started to quietly hum Puff the Magic Dragon.

It was just too catchy not to sing quietly along.

"Puff the Magic Dragon lived by the sea..."

"He's going to kill us you realize?" Isabel pointed out.

Johnny seemed to be agreeing as he tugged on Savannah's hair.

"We're too cute to kill," she said with a grin. "Besides, he knows he can't kill us because we're female and therefore may have taken pictures of him as a dragon while he was sleeping and hid them for safekeeping in case we did end up dead."

She was definitely her mother's daughter.

"And then he'd have to deal with a cranky Wyatt and Chris," she grinned. "You really don't want that do you Johnny?"
