"Due to a lot of missed time," Jean-Paul began, and his expression betrayed a touch of pity for his students, "this week we will be catching up. A lot. I cannot lecture you on three weeks' of material in one--well, I could, but you would not understand a word I said--so. At your desks, you will find information and worksheets on trigonometry, geometry, and variables. All of this is due next week. Bonne chance."

"Okay. Okay. Okay." She took a breath. "Geometry first, that's not so hard. I do know that." She glared at Jean-Paul. "I just wish we didn't have so *much* of it."

"I suppose it can't be helped," Rodney shrugged. "The semester is almost over and there's a lot we haven't covered. We might not have time to even get into calculus." And yes, that was disappointment in his voice.

"Shucky darn. Whatever will we do?" Charlie rolled her eyes. "Too bad for the rest of you, a reprieve from the governor for me."

Charlie shook her head, and started to regain her sense of humor. "I don't doubt it for a second. Your fun is not the fun of most people, Rodney."
