Ethics [Thursday, November 29, 1st period]

Anakin stalked into the room and slammed the door shut behind him.

"Today we talk about wrath," he said. Ignore the pointed look he gave John Sheppard. Really.

"There's something very human about giving in to our temper," he said. "It's freeing, uncomplicated."

He paused. "At least at that moment. The repercussions are always waiting."

He waved a hand and the holoprojector flipped to life. Frozen in time was a young Jedi with two lightsabers at the neck of an older, clearly defeated enemy.

"This was me," he said, pointing at the young man. "And that older man was evil and threatened my family. It didn't make the choice I made--to kill him while he knelt there--any less wrong."

He looked around the classroom making eye contact with every student before continuing. "Wrath is very, very tempting. It urges you to listen to that dark little voice inside of you--to cut loose, live without consequences."

He pointed at the holo again. "There are always consequences. This moment has stayed with me, made me the person I am. It wasn't a positive influence."

Anakin stopped pacing. "What would it take for you to get to that hazy edge? And more importantly, how do you stop yourself from giving in?"

Qui-Gon couldn't help but flinch when as the image of the last moment of his Master's life appeared. Dooku's face wasn't blurred this time and Qui-Gon found it hard to look away.

Irulan would have been more surprised if Professor Skywalker confessed that he never killed anyone. Such as it was, Irulan was familiar that warrior occasionally had cause to take a life.

River listened to the lecture and watched the hologram, intrigued. The situation and the action taken didn't surprise her, but she could certanly see Anakin's point.

Gwynn was listening to the lecture with a troubled look on her face.

John had picked up on the pointed look and had been unable to stop himself from rolling his eyes. He wasn't at all surprised by the holo and he was too tired to pretend to be.

Sokka was really confused -- the guy was evil, right? So how was killing him bad?
intraspective: (huh?)

... and the point of this was..? How could removing a threat to your family be a bad thing? Was this supposed to be a big deal?

Ino leaned back in her chair and looked bored.

It was kind of eerie to be seeing the past of his galaxy like this. He'd heard stories, seen some holos but it was nothing like this.

Victor was listening so intently. Really. Most of his life had been spent embracing wrath, so he personally didn't see anything wrong with it.

Rodney gulped. At times, Anakin really creeped him out.
