NNSE, Monday Morning, Period 1 [Nov 19]

Lulu's eyes raked over the class, amused to see that some of them had been hit by the new Fandom weirdness she'd heard about. After the events of the last week -- wherein she had handwavily spent most of her time in meditations because her mun is an idiot who kept forgetting to do anything with her -- she smiled at the new weirdness worked among the students. Assuming any of the aged students showed up for class.

"Good morning, everyone," she began. "Today we're going to do a little more shuffling of the syllabus. Rather than today's original class, what we're going to do is open the floor. I'd originally intended to give you an opportunity to submit your many questions anonymously ahead of time, but instead I think I'd like to open the floor. Today's assignment is for each of you to ask one question to which you do not know the answer, something which you think might be important to know, but, for whatever reason, you've so far been afraid to ask.

"My reason for doing this is because I have noticed that a number of students have remained... uncomfortable... with a number of the topics that have been discussed in this class. One of my aims in teaching here has been to make students more comfortable with their bodies, and their sexual needs, wants, and desires. Now that you've got a decent grounding in the basics, I'd like to hear more about those personal desires -- while keeping it as respectful as possible. I'd like to encourage discussion today, and if you feel you can answer your classmates' questions, you can certainly attempt to do so." She smiled. "I fact, I'd like to encourage you to do so. The discussion today is going to be open to everyone -- while I'd rather you not shout over each other, you don't need to wait for me to call upon you to contribute. We are all adults here, or near to it, and I trust you all to be respectful of each other as part of this discussion."

Oh, nostalgia. Once again she was in a room where at least some of the students were blushing teenagers, although most of them seemed to be grown up and less blushing. Experience tended to do that.

Sokka leaned back in his chair, kicked his boots up on his desk, and grinned at Lulu. She was still as buxom beautiful as ever.

Instead of taking her usual seat right in front, Anemone (who was still her normal, sixteen-seventeen-somethingteen self, thank YOU!) had found the farthest back corner possible to observe from.

She looked at her current? former? classmates, before glancing over to verify that at least Miss Lulu was still the same person. She really did not want to deal with Fandom strangeness right now.

T.R. sat back and filed her nails a little. She thought maybe visiting her old classes (how weird was it that Miss Lulu was still teaching the same thing and still had horrible fashion sense?) would be quaint, but it was a little on the side of boring. Then agian, she realized in remembering her portable stocks radio, they were boring back then, too.

Hell, this was old hat to Jack, who has been known to teach a class or two on sex ed.

Mostly to young unmarried coeds...except for the one. He didn't know she was married! Honest!

Basically, feel free to ping against anyone else's comment. This is an open discussion that's occuring with the entire class all at once, so keep that in mind. New questions can go into whole new threads; if two -- or more -- people ping against the same comment at once, feel free to just go with them and branch out the discussion, although if someone's already pinged, please don't add a new branch.

Rikku looked around. Wow. Either some of these people hadn't aged a second, or there were actual, real students in this class with the reunion-goers, which meant she couldn't crack dirty jokes and embarrass the hell out of them.

Sixteen-year-old Rikku would have had a number of questions that she might not have been brave enough to contribute; Rikku at thirty-six was brave enough but couldn't think of anything she didn't know. And might have paused to regret what she was missing because of a stupid business trip.

"Okay," she said, clearing her throat. "Here's one. Why does every teenager think that they're the only person in the world that has sexual urges? Or that those feelings are shameful and wrong? Your body is evolving and you have crazy hormones, but the average teenager would rather die than ever use the word 'masturbate,' much less admit they do it. I don't just mean the morality you're exposed to, it's something ... really nerve-wracking, going on, where you think everyone's going to look at you and judge you for wanting things that your body is pretty much jumping up and down yelling at you to get started on. Why is that?"

She looked over at her old friend and fellow Guardian with a smile. "If that's not an okay question, then how come pregnancy makes you want sex so much? Because it's kinda stupid, biologically. I mean, it's a little late for that."

River sat silent, watching. She had no questions, and even if she'd had them she would have preferred to pull the answers from the minds rather than ask. So much more efficient.

The end of Lulu's class found Jean-Paul, back in town as of approximately three seconds ago, leaning in her doorway. "Bonjour, stranger," he said. "I thought you might want to know I was back."
