There was something going down and Deadpool was starting to get a wee bit worried.

So many sickies!

"Okay kids, today we're learning about Florence Nightingale." He nodded, looking at ~~what was left of~~ his class. "Nurse, Bea Arthur prototype, and I think she had syphilis. But that could just be me..."

He shook his head, waving dismissively. "Never mind! She set the standard for nursing and patient care way back in the Crimean war. Why they would need standards in the war on crime, I'll never know. But it's the way it is."

Frowning again, Deadpool looked at the class. "So, yeah. Take her example and if you're not sick, help out. And if you are sick... What the hell are you doing here?! Get your sniffly ass down to the town hall hospital dealie! Don't make me bodyslide you there!"

"Three," he said quietly. "Including Anakin Skywalker and Lieutenant Kerrigan."

"Well this isn't good," Wade said, going for the pointless comment that always had to be said in these situations. Next he'd say that he has a bad feeling about this. Or that he doesn't trust the new comers.

"Any clue about fixing it yet?"

"No," Fraser admitted. "Communications are down and it is not physically possible to leave the island. We're effectively cut off."

Wade frowned. "Physically?" Well that couldn't mean bodysliding, could it?

"Bodyslide by two."

There was an eye-demolishing bright blue flash of light.

And then there was a body-demolishing heavy half-metal man crashing down onto Wade.

Very hard.

Fraser...had never seen anything like that before. Without thinking, he stepped back, away from whatever was attacking Wade and said, "Um."

A red gloved hand waved from under the giant mass. "Ow. Little help? Please?"

One hand pressed to the ground, Nate quickly pushed himself off of Wade. He turned around with something approximating an apologetic expression. "I could've told you that wasn't going to work."

"What just happened?" Fraser asked, frowning.

"The bodyslide teleportation matrix isn't working," Cable explained, crossing his arms. "Just like any other way of transport off the island."

Wade rubbed his head. "Well I didn't know that. Excuse me for trying to help."

"Should I leave you two alone?" Fraser asked, smirking just a bit.

"That won't be necessary." Deadpan? No way. "It was mentioned on the radio," he told Wade. "The cat." Not The Cat.

Or course not. He totally had the wrong impression about them too. "Well now we all learned an important lesson about bodysliding." A beat. "Think we can still move around the island?"

"According to Altra, movement around the island is still working," Fraser said. "He can Jump from place to place. Anything else is restricted by what Altra called a wall of magic."

"Magic again. Any other details?"

Cable frowned mildly. Just mildly.

Of course it was mildly.

But like Wade actually believed that.

"It's a magic disease?"

"According to Aly, it is," Fraser said, nodding. "Nothing that neither she nor Altra has seen or experienced before. The symptoms just seem to be flu like in nature but there are no similarities between patients. Altra couldn't tell me if the strength of the magic or the fact that it was something he'd never experienced before or both was what was keeping him and us cut off from the mainland."

He nodded. Once.

"I'm going to look into this," Cable said, cast Wade a glance, and then walked out of the classroom without saying anything else.

He was always such a cut-up when he was like this. Just ask Irene.

Wade rolled his eyes. "Have fun storming the castle!"

Rubbing his lower back, Wade stretched a little. "Geeze, could he weigh any more?"

"Will he be all right?" Fraser asked.

Sighing, Wade shook his head. "He's Cable, of course not. I'll shoot him later and make him stop trying to commit suicide. Again."

"As long as he has someone looking out for him," Fraser said. "Just make sure he heals. The clinic staff can't spare anyone to patch up a gunshot wound."

"Well it was going to be a tranq gun," Wade replied. "I need to switch it up sometimes."

"Of course," Fraser said and laughed. "You're so resourceful."
