Ares seemed in a very chipper mood today as he addressed the class.

"Easy lesson today, just read the handouts, and think about what you might be able to achieve using only items from your own wardrobes," he said gesturing. "Something in the air gives me the impression that you might need the information soon."

The chirpiness combined with the noticeable lack of anything likely to humiliate the students was probably a bad sign.

"Good for you guys," she smiled at him, then shivered. "Air's dry, that's all."

"Dry air doesn't usually make you sound like you're coughing up two tonsils and a left lung," Dean observed. "You cold?"

"Little bit," she admitted, shivering. "California girl, you know how it goes. I'll be fine in April."

Dean reached out a hand, intending to touch Dawn's forehead to see if she was hot.

In the physical sense, in the metaphorical sense he already knew the answer was yes.

Dawn was now staring at Dean, who seemed to be doing the Mom forehead thing. "What are you doing?"

"Checking to see if you have a fever," Dean said. "And you're definitely warm."

"No," she said, shaking her head and instantly regretting it. Stupid headache. "I'm cold. Didn't we just cover this?"

"You just feel cold because your internal thermostat is all out of whack," Dean said. "Fevers do that. Maybe you picked up the flu or something when you were away."

"Maybe." She shivered and promptly decided the heat was just funky. "God, I hope John and Aeryn don't get sick. That would suck."
