"I would like to thank you all for your... respectful discussions last class," Lulu said, as the class filed in. "I found your different opinions quite enlightening, and a convenient jumping point for today's class."

She began outlining they day's topic on the board. "As we spoke last week about men, so we will speak this week about women. In fact, much of that lecture applies today, as well, at least in terms of discussing sex between men and women -- certainly, women are capable of all forms penetrative sex as they were outlined previously, and, yes, that includes anal penetration, which can be enjoyed by both genders. However, there are other specifics about the female body that one should understand, should one wish to share in its joys."

Lulu outlined the sensitive portions of the female anatomy, in a similar way to the discussion of the male anatomy of the week before; she discussed how they are often stimulated, including a brief discussion of cunnilingus. "In fact," she added, "were there one skill I would recommend to those who wish to have sex with women, it would be this -- learn it. Love it." She smiled softly. "Your future partners will thank you. Are there any questions?" After answering anything that was asked, Lulu outlined the day's activity. "Like last week, I am going to ask you again to work in groups of three, although you are not to work with anyone with whom you worked last week. The topic is the same: each group is to offer something else that can be used to stimulate women."

She paused a moment. "Also, to answer a question that I received after last class: if we were anywhere other than Fandom Island, I would say that, definitively, kissing cannot cause one to become poultry, but given that this is Fandom, some caution is perhaps required."

River gave a nod in agreement. "Assume you're used to classes where the students are more at ease with the topic," she said quietly, then added a little more cheerfully: "I agree with Lulu."

"Yes, definitely," she nodded, then asked, "Agree about what?"

"That cunnilingus is a priority to learn if you want to have sex with women," River clarified matter-of-factly.

"They used to have us lick lollipops at the Companion House," she confided, "the theory is that it helps learn technique."

River grinned at the thought. "Would be interesting to suggest it to Lulu as a workshop," she replied.

"Can you imagine the looks on some of the boys' faces?" She laughed, imagining Gavin's expression.

River's grin widened. "Even less likelihood of avoiding blushing and stammering," she said.

"Not that it's not marginally attractive, at least in his case, but I do miss being able to have frank conversations about it," she said, thinking of her conversation with Luke from last week.

"Persistant patience, perhaps?" River suggested. "After a while most people will tire of blushing."

"Perhaps," she agreed, "Or at least be immune to the taboo of the topics, because they will be more commonplace."

River nodded. "Given time, people can get used to most things." That wasn't entirely good of course, but in this particular instance it was.

"They can," she agreed, "but only if they consider it important enough, which...I'm not sure that this century is ready to be frank about anything related to sexual intercourse."

"Unfortunately I don't think that attitude is limited to this century," River replied.

Inara got a sudden mental imagine of her future husband and frowned, "No, I suppose it isn't."

As River saw that sudden mental image quite clear, and found the idea of him as her future husband quite amusing, she couldn't stop herself and burst out giggling.

"What?" She certainly didn't see the humor in the situation.

"Future husband," was all River could say, before the giggling resumed.

"Tell me about it." Yes, she was still grumpy about this, thanks. "Not exactly the understanding sort."

"He hides it well," River replied, trying to keep her face straight.

[River can tell Inara the truth or just shut up about it, it's up to you!]

"What's he like?" She hadn't met anyone else who knew him yet. "I mean, when I'm not talking to him. Are we...happy?"

"Plenty of misunderstandings," River replied. "He doesn't communicate well. Doesn't mean he doesn't care."

Strangely, that made her feel better. "Is he a good person?"

River nodded, without hesitation. "Just pretends not to be." She smiled a little.

She relaxed further. "I'll take your word for it--he didn't make a stellar first impression, even if it was a memorable one. Your brother is nice."

And suddenly there was a beaming smile. "He's a good brother. Miss him. I'm glad he didn't make a fool of himself."
