Katara waved at Anemone as she made her way into the library, still flailing over her pumpkin'd shoulder. "Anemone, hi, does the library have any books on crazy things that turn someone into a pumpkin?"
"No, and I already checked to make sure Special Collections is locked up tight, so he didn't come from there. At least, not that I could tell." Anemone looked up from her book cart to smile at Katara. "I think I saw a movie about this on the television once."
Then she noticed the shoulder. "Oh. Wow. Um, I suppose I shouldn't offer you any of the pumpkin bread from my lunch?"
Katara giggled at the thought. "Would that make me a cannibal?"
She became more serious though. "Any books on legends or something that this might have come from then? I thought I would try to look it up and see what's going on."
"Lots of books on Halloween legends, and you might want to try looking up Samhain too. Oh, and I'm guessing anything pumpkin-y that's not agriculture." She pulled up the online catalog and started searching. "Got any ideas?"
"Ummm," Katara thought for a moment. "History of the island? I know there's not much of it, but when Lucas and I got sucked into the past last winter, I think they found us that way. Or folklore?"
Anemone isn't stupid, she had listened the radio last night. Strange Pumpkin-y things on a rampage probably meant library visitors sometime today, so she had made sure there was study space for the thinking-inclined.
She might even share her tea, if they asked nicely.
Adam had heard about the Pumpkin-headed Horseman on the radio last night and decided to try and find out more about this thing, which was why he was currently in the library trying to find books about it.
This sounded all too familiar to him and he hoped that whatever caused it wasn't a certain someone he'd been dealing with back home.
After seeing what happened to Jack (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/2223788.html?thread=99969452#t99969452), Hoshi came to the library looking for answers. "Hey Adam," she said, waving. "You won't believe this. I went to say hi to Jack Burton while he was working and he's got a pumpkin instead of a hand."
"I can imagine it must be pretty horrid," Adam admitted, frowning slightly. "I've been trying to find out more information about this horseman guy. There might be some sort of legend behind him."
"Hey, Katara," Adam waved back. "Not much," he admitted, frowning slightly. "Just a couple things on the legend of the Headless Horseman... mostly stories though. How about you?"
"Yeah, I found that one too. I wish I'd gotten a better look at the stupid guy when he threw his pumpkins at me," she frowned, flipping through the books again. "I'm not sure what else is helpful. Maybe...have you looked up Halloween legends?"
"You didn't get hit?" Adam was concerned, it didn't seem like she'd been hurt or anything. "I've found a couple of titles on legends, yes. But they don't have too much information on our friend."
He sighed. "Maybe something online will turn up answers?"
After talking to Anemone, Katara and her pumpkin shoulder made her way over to the stacks then came back out with a bunch of books on legends and such things. Bepumpkin'd or not, this was out of control oh em gee.
