Fandom Invasions Class #7 (Thursday period 3)
When the students filed into the Danger Shop they found two young girls standing with John in the usual lecture spot.
"Hi," the older one said, bouncing a little on her toes. "I'm Susannah Lynn and this is my half-sister Grace. Dad asked us to help him with this class since it's all about us.
"See, there was this big swirling thing, a..... vortex?" She looked up at John for confirmation of the word, grinning when he nodded and then continuing. "And a bunch of us kids got pulled through it and came to Fandom and got to meet our parents before they were our parents. It was really freaky and a little scary, but it was also a lot of fun." She giggled. "Seeing everybody's face when they realised we were their kids was really really funny.
"It was so much fun, that Dad decided that you should get a chance to play too! Isn't that great?" She turned and looked up at John again. "This is where you take over, right?"
John smiled and nodded. "It is. Thanks, Susannah." He addressed the class. "Fandom is always throwing the unexpected at you. And sometimes that isn't a hostile invasion. Sometimes it's the next generation. The object this class isn't to fight the invaders, but look after them. Keep them amused, fed, make sure they go to bed on time... you know. Be parents. And then make sure they get back to where they're supposed to be."
Grace pulled on John's pantleg. "Daddy? I wanna colour!"
John picked her up and smiled wryly at the class. "Sometimes it's easier to just beat something up."
[ooc:wait for ocd is up! Have at it.]

Re: simulation one -- the park
"And a perfectly lovely name it is, Maria," he lied with a grin. "Okay, round two!" He waved his arm about again, and this time his right hand settled on the boy.
Disclaimer: Opinions of the Valentine about names do not reflect the thoughts of the management. Valentine is an arse.Re: simulation one -- the park
Re: simulation one -- the park
flailygesture. He took the boy's hand and gave it a shake."Excellent," he stated. He knew which classmate to laugh at later, at least. Poor Jack, having two like this. Little and clingy and climby and eugh, kids. Why anyone would want more than one was anyone's best guess. "And now, for the big finish!"
He gave a fishy flourish of his own with his left hand and pointed... right between the two of them!
Re: simulation one -- the park
"Hey, nofair!" Jack said, jumping at the arm and the hand and the way it's totally not pointed at him!
Re: simulation one -- the park
Re: simulation one -- the park
He totally out-tackles his sister and tries to pin her. "And you're Valentine and you're a 'thing' with Namine and we're not supposed to ask about it cuz it's complicated and then Mom gets mad!"
He picked up the subtle from his dad.
Re: simulation one -- the park
It was like herding monkeybirds.
"Perhaps it was a tie. Perhaps I should give you both one?"
Re: simulation one -- the park
By cheating in a fair-fight.
Grabbing JJ's ear, she twisted it hard as she tried to wiggle out from under him. "OFF! JJ, shut up! You are such a DWEEB, just like Daddy."
Eyes totally innocent liek whoa, she grinned up at Valentine. "Yes please. Will you teach us juggling?"
Re: simulation one -- the park
Innocent? JJ? Of course!
Re: simulation one -- the park
"I'll have you know I can do at least six," he stated indignantly, pulling two masks off of his face and presenting them to the kids before digging up to his elbows into his pockets for his juggling balls.
Can't do more than five. Puh. He'd show them both!
Re: simulation one -- the park
There was a pause.
"She's going to yell at us anyway for playing near an unsupervised portal, so I guess it can't get any worse."

Re: simulation one -- the park
If the answer was yes, Valentine might have to hunt Jack down so that he could have another juggling partner. One could never have too many juggling partners. Nobody around here could juggle.
Re: simulation one -- the park
Re: simulation one -- the park
Okay, maybe he was.
"I'll have to test him on juggling sometime," he mused.
Re: simulation one -- the park
Maria poked him, wearing the mask and making a fishy face with hand-fins flapping at him.
Re: simulation one -- the park
"Are you fish often?"
Re: simulation one -- the park
"We're not plants, JJ!" Maria said with more flappity finwaving.
"We're not fish, either. Mom gets mad when someone asks if she's name after coral," JJ countered.
"That's because coral's dumb. It doesn't move!" Finwaving!
"But Mom says she's not a plant either! Nor a fish!" JJ was making fish faces back at her through Valentine's face. "UncaValentine! Tell us we're not fish or plants!"
Re: simulation one -- the park
Re: simulation one -- the park
Oh, and chanting "Bob!" repeatedly.
Re: simulation one -- the park
Not that Valentine had ever really become a functional member of society, but that was neither here nor there.
"I hope you don't expect me to juggle bananas, now," he mused.
