"Good to see you all survived the weekend," Aly said with a grin as the students filed into class. "Today, we're going to talk about being a bodyguard. This is probably the most obvious way to protect someone, and the one that comes up most often in popular culture. Movies, tv shows, songs, all depict what's fairly often a pretty boring and routine job. Except that you have to be on alert and more than on alert every moment of the day and ready to spring into action at any second."

She gave a quick ~~handwavy~~ lecture about the basics of bodyguarding. It was fairly obvious from the way she talked that while most of the things she taught she'd dealt with them in her life, but this one she was even more clear about. It was a topic close to her heart.

"So what I'm going to ask you to do over the next week is to try this out. I've paired you up in groups of two, and I'd like you to meet up a few times between now and next class to try out the role of the bodyguard and the responsibilities of both the guard and the person who's being guarded. Check out possible threats, shield your charge from their adoring public, keep in mind that anyone can be a threat at any time. Once you have a feel for it, switch up the roles and let the other person try. You'll be reporting back about what you learned next week, and there'll be an in class exercise that's going to assume you thought about this at least a little bit over the week.

"Okay, here are your pairs on the board. Today, I'd like you to meet up with your partner and talk about when you will meet and different tactics you can use."

Seely grinned at her. "You're certainly scary enough," he said.

"I can defend myself. Defending you's not such a trick," she replied, raising an eyebrow.

"What makes you say that?"

"I already spend half my time making sure you don't hit yourself in the face or something idiotic like that," she teased.

Seely grinned. "And the other half you spend doing all sorts of things to me," he said, tilting his head so she could see the half-healed hickey on his neck.

Aravis smiled slowly, coloring just a little. "Did I leave that?"

She didn't sound the slightest bit sorry.

"You did," Seely said, nodding. "As well as a few others I can't show in class."

Aravis grinned and, looking around quickly, lifted her plaited curls away from her neck so he could see her matching mark.

Seely's grin got even broader. "However did that happen?"

Aravis pulled her top a little to the side so he could see the edge of the mark he'd left on her shoulder. "No idea."

Seely pulled the neck of his shirt down. "Clearly this needs more investigation. For protection."

"I'm kind of curious about where else I managed to leave them," Aravis said, and crossed her arms for no reason.

Seely turned around and started inching his shirt up.

Aravis flailed and reached out to stop him. "We're in class!"

"You asked," Seely pointed out.

"Use your words," she replied.

"What words?"

"Telling me about your back rather than showing me."

"It's not even like I'd have to lift my shirt that high."

"Lift it again and I won't leave anymore marks."

Seely pouted.

Aravis smiled. "So, I'm your bodyguard now."

"That mean you're going to guard my body closely?"

"Yes," she said, smirking. "And guess what?"

"What?"
