It was early but Harriet was looking bright and alert as she watched the students arrive. She had a cup of tea and a smile that might be just a little unnerving as she waited outside the Dangershop.

Bouncing, now there was bouncing. Getting eaten was looking better by the second.

A badger with the tail of a lizard and a corkscrew for a nose slid into view, being chased by an angry looking bird. Both stopped dead when they saw Jamie.

That just wasn't right, and they exchanged uncertain glances, enmity forgotten in shared horror.

"Oh look! More crazy animals!" Jamie said pointing with his sword.

No. The real sword.

"Should I sing to them, Ed? C'mon on! Say something Ed!"

Then Jamie began to sing in a horse like voice.

"Camptown Ladies sing this song!
Doo-Dah! Doo-Dah...

The bird gave the slithy tove (which is what the badger was) a pointed, he's your problem look and flew off.

The disgruntled slithy tove jerked its head at Jamie, beckoning him to follow, then trotted off into the forest.

Not looking back.

The horse trotted after it as it led the way deep, deep into the forest. They reached a huge tree, whereupon the slithy tove buggered off as fast as its legs would carry it. On the tree was a sign:

Tum Tum tree -- good for thinking.

There was a convenient hitching post beside the tree, and the horse looked at it longingly. Perhaps Jamie would leave it in peace and go look for the Jabberwocky (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/1561424.html?thread=95558480#t95558480). He might want to stop for lunch, first, though.

Or not. The horse didn't care as long as Jamie went away.

Jamie gave "Ed" a big hug.

"Sorry big guy. Looks like this is where we part ways."

"Jaaaaaaamie! I will miss you so!" Jamie said in his horse voice.

"Oh Ed! You are great horse. I will miss you always."

The horse flattened its ears when Jamie hugged him. The only reason it didn't try and bite him was because he was naked.

It just wasn't going to go there,
