Independent Study Meeting

*Zero arrives at the library at 6:30 sharp, armed with a backpack full of scientific collection equipment, a notebook, and the croquet mallet. She sets up camp at one of the large tables and waits for the others to start filtering in.*

"Hey," said Janet. "Nice mallet. Expecting trouble?" She carefully set her backpack down on the table and grinned at Zero.

*grins back at Janet* In this place? Always. *studies the mallet, which she's painted lime green* I'm thinkin' about gettin' some stickers for it.

Oooh, stickers? Pretty. *glances at mallet again* What kind of designs?

OOC: I will be intermittently online for the next few hours, sadly. :( Just so you know why I'm quiet.

OOC: Oh, yes, slow play! I always am fond of slow play! And my suggestion is that you ask for suggestions from the group on what to investigate.

"Hello!" exclaims Janet. She's entirely too cheerful about the prospect of potentially risky scientific exploration. "How's it going?"

*shrugs* Haven't killed Crichton yet, so that should be good.

Angela taps on the library door. "Hey, Zero, Janet? I know I didn't sign up, but Marty and I might want to sit in on this meeting. Is that okay?"

[OOC: Of course, they might both be very very quiet, since I think neither of us is actually around tonight...]

Oh, sure, anybody's welcome to join.

"Hey, Angela!" says Janet with a smile, waving. "How's it going?"

OOC: that's okay, Janet's going to be quiet too.

Angela smiles at Zero before answering Janet.

"Not too bad," she says. "Considering I go to a school with zombies and I shot my boyfriend last week. What about you?"

Marty sits on the donut that O'Neill gave him and rolls his eyes at the comment about being shot.

Scooter wanders into the library, looking rather less like he'd gotten into a fight with some china and lost than he had the day before. He's also exchanged the wrench for a poker. "Hey, Zero - I heard your announcement, yesterday, and remembered the stories you told me about the gremlins during registration . . . and, well, I was wondering whether you'd mind a staff member tagging along?"

"Me?" Scooter's not precisely sure what he's done to incur Zero's wrath, but he's hoping she'll explain. That'll be one better than Miss Piggy usually did.

Draco walks in carrying a bookbag. He looks tired but not like he's in a bad mood.

"Lead on MacDuff." Marty says with a grin. Marty then thinks of something.

"Hey, is this going to be on School grounds? or is it considered off campus? The last time I ran into a moving tree I got beaten up a bit. If not, where do I get a croquet mallet?"

We're stickin' to school grounds for now, I think. I dunno...what do you guys want to do? Oh, an' my sister sent me this one.

This place is so weird. I wouldn't mind getting some soil and water samples to analyze to see if they have any insanity-causing unusual properties because I swear, I was relatively sane before I started at this place. Maybe something in the soil is animating the tree?
