Sure, today was a holiday in some strange, normal places. But this was Fandom, and that meant Sam was doing his usual Monday duty of getting the library open.

Odds are, he would have done it even if it was a holiday. Geek.

Sam was perched at the desk, finishing his coffee and checking his e-mail.

Sam had a stack of books that needed new check-out labels, and was going through them. Seriously, this was less boring to him than it sounds.

The library was closed while Sam was in Religion class, unless someone else was around.

The library was closed for lunch, to everyone except Thursday, the aides, or anyone Sam really wanted to see.

Sam was recovering from suddenly having to lead Religion class by sitting and reading quietly.

Sam went through all the closing procedures, trying to make good time.

As much as I snark on Columbus, I do appreciate his existence getting me a day off from work. *g*

Omg no fair! I still have to go to class.

Perhaps I can persuade you into taking a test on the human bone structure for me? Carpals, femur, scapula....it'll be easy.

I'm at work now. We should have a virtual party to help ease the pain.

I AGREE WITH THIS.

If things were fine with him and Sam - and Peter liked to believe that they were - then he should be able to walk in to the library and ask Sam a question about something.

So here was Peter, doing just that.

Can it be a shirtless party?

I'm not sure I can support something that demeaning and gratuitous.

We're having an abnormally warm October. I support this for HEALTH REASONS ONLY.

Right, we don't want to get heat stroke or anything.

It's for the best, after all. I mean, school and work AND it's hot? We deserve this!

I'm kinda fond of everyone in here myself. Best Monday at work EVER.

Things hadn't changed between them enough for Sam to not be happy to see Peter, so here he was, smiling and marking the page he was on as he set his book down. "Hey," he said. "What's up?"

"Met a vampire," Peter said, since why not cut right to the chase?

"Wait, what? Where?" Sam asked. "At the graveyard? Are you all right?"

It would be boring to Claire. But Claire had other things on her mind, namely the fact that she'd read her evolution book so much she knew it back to front, and she wanted more info.

Which is why she found her way into the library this morning.

"Hey, you work here?"

Which just showed how often she cam to the library.

"Park, last night," Peter said. He leaned against the front desk. "Mostly he stood there. Didn't talk much."
