Lies are the little things like whether you're a natural blonde or not, how many people you've slept with, or whether she looks fat in that dress. We all tell lies, don't even try to tell me you've never told a lie. Actually, do and I'll give you detention. Oh yeah!" He really would.

"Today I want you to tell lies. Simple lies. We're not trying to win an Oscar, just get through life with less stress. What's a normal, simple lie? Your name? Toothpaste choice? Career aspirations? Whether or not you cheated last weekend? Whether you think it should count as cheating. Something lame like that. GO!" Barney loved listening to the radio. Really.

Zack and Karal might be surprised if they noticed Barney didn't seem to be avoiding their gaze. It was as if the entire weekend hadn't happened for him. Of course it had, he was just very good at lying to himself. Such things happen when you're completely awesome and Bob Barker is your dad.

At the end of the period, Barney called for attention again. "Tonight is Homecoming. I'm sure all you attached kids will be fighting over corsages, spiked punch, and whose date is hotter. Remember men, just because you arrived with her, doesn't mean you have to leave with her. Ladies, remember this is not your mother's Homecoming - SLUT UP! Enjoy yourselves, and have a LEGENDARY HOMECOMING. Heh, coming."

Annette gave him a sweet smile. They understood each other perfectly. "My greatest love is Dick. And who is yours Andrew?"

"My greatest love is..." They were supposed to be lying, right? "... Timothy Dalton."

Annette stared at Andrew. He was lying. Even after...

"Right. What do you love about him?"

"His commanding screen presence," Andrew stated with a solemn nod. "And his chin dimple."

Annette folded her arms across her chest. "I think we should start that truth club right away. I think we should have a time-out chair too."

Andrew grimaced. "I thought..." He leaned in closer and whispered, "Aren't we supposed to be telling fibs?"

"Fibs about our truth club?" Annette clicked her tongue and tried not to grin. "For shame, Andrew."

Andrew was abashed. "I'm sorry!" he cried. "I thought we were doing the assignment. I mean you were all like, 'The love of my life is dick'. I mean, I'm a fan, but I'm not going to shout it from the rooftops or anything."

She couldn't help it, she cracked up laughing. "Not that kind of dick, I mean, yeah, but..." Oh man. "You're a fan too?" Oh, that's right. Neil.

"Huge fan," Andrew stated and promptly turned red. "I mean not that I've had a lot of experience. Well, I mean, I've had experience, you know, a lifetime of, um..."

Andrew just shut his mouth and picked at the seam on his pants.

She cocked her head. "You can tell me. Barney would appreciate our... lying skills. A lifetime of what?"

Andrew turned a deeper shade of red. "Well, a lifetime of firsthand experience with the, um... the equipment."

Annette just got it and it was her turn to turn a deep shade of red. "OH! Well. Yeah. And that goes well? I mean, er, I've never...god, I mean I don't have, um..."

"So," Andrew interjected, "got your dress all picked out for the big dance tonight?"

Change of subject, good. Yes.

"Oh yes! I've had it for two weeks now. It was made just for me." Because Annette was spoiled and her parents were filthy rich.

"And you? Do you have your tux all ready? I bet you are going to look so handsome, Andrew."

"Yeah. I ordered off ebay," Andrew said. "I got it cheap because it had a cigarette burn on one of the sleeves, but after I had it altered, you can't even tell."

"Oh, that's nice," she said and had she known, she would have bought him a brand new tux.

Wait. Was he lying?

No, not lying. Andrew didn't have much money, other than what he made working one day a week at the magic shop.

"Yeah, I felt pretty lucky to find it," he commented.

Annette felt the need to hug him. She leaned over to do just that. "Andrew," she said against his cheek. "If you ever need anything, I'm always here for you, okay?"

Not having a lot money had never really bothered Andrew, so he didn't make that connection, but he hugged her back and said, "Thanks, Annette. I'm here for you too."
