NNSE, Monday, Period 1 [9AM-10AM] [Class Five, Oct 1]

"Today's class," Lulu began, from her accustomed place, sitting on the edge of her desk, "begins, truly, to get into some of the more advanced topics that we'll be discussing further after the mid-term break. However, the use of what we are discussing today is such a basic requirement for sex that I decided to include it in basic topics."

She stood, moving to the blackboard where she wrote out the title of today's lecture -- Foreplay: Seriously, Do It. "And I do mean this," she continued. "One of the primary components of healthy sex is a sense of intimacy, whether long or short term, and so if you are having sex, I encourage you strongly to engage in foreplay. You will find that it increases the pleasure for both you and your partner.

"You may ask what foreplay is; put succinctly, it is a series of acts intended to arouse two people towards orgasm, either through foreplay, or after engaging in intercourse." She handed around some information sheets before continuing. "As you can see here, there are a variety of acts that could be considered foreplay; in fact, some of them, such as oral sex, are commonly considered to be a form of sex in and of themselves, as opposed to merely a precursor to intercourse. Performing these acts without going 'all the way,' as it is sometimes called, is a form of sex, and as such I don't encourage you to practice this until you feel that you are emotionally ready."

She paused for a moment. "In light of last week's lecture on safer sex, I would like to underline something today: while the risk of pregnancy with foreplay is understandably minimal, there is, in any instance where fluids are transmitted from one person to another, the risk of the accompanying transmission of infection. As such, barriers such as condoms or dental dams," and she gestured to the basket she'd had the previous week, which now held the latter as well as the former, "should be used as necessary.

"Are there any questions?" After answering the questions if there are any, Lulu continued, "All right, then. Next week, we are having our first test in the class, on all of the topics so far. What I would like you to do today is to get into groups of three and discuss the class to date, helping each other with areas in which you having difficulty. Remember, this is to be a safe, supportive environment. I will be watching and listening, and will step in if I feel it to be necessary."

[NWS, as Lulu's lectures always are, for frank discussions of sexual topics. Please wait for OCD is up!]

Head meet desk. He was just going to stay like that until he could get the blush gone.

With the blush mostly gone, Gavin was mostly ready to try and discuss this with other. Just don't expect him to be eloquent.

Marco had no reason to be head-desky, he was just sleepy.

Turtle, who also was free of the urge to headdesk, was taking very no-nonsense notes as per usual, making sure to underline and capitalize the word sex whenever it came up to see if the excessively underlined and capitalized sexes would make Charlie get flaily when she shared the notes.

Turtle is flipping through her notes to refresh herself on points before getting into a group with anything. Her brain might have been confusing Sex Ed with Debating, as she wanted to make sure she had a well-researched argument.

Anemone was taking detailed notes, and checking off some items and underlining the ideas she was unfamiliar with. Miss Lulu was awesome.

Anemone pulled a chair over next to Turtle and grinned. "Review? Because failing this class would be super embarrassing."

Jack had his notes with him. They were very detailed and logical and--no they weren't. There were drawings of boobs and butts and he was so not ready to discuss the class and review.

But he was here, looking around for a group.

Jack was going down. The list, that is, checking things off that he'd done, and circling things that he should try.

"Don't see how anyone could fail," Turtle said with a slight shrug toward Anemone. "It's all pretty simple, really. Sex is okay, make sure to protect yourself, and be considerate of the people you're doing it with. Unless you're doing it by yourself, but, according to the notes, that's okay, too."

Turtle very clearly took the no-nonsense part of this class very seriously, as she spoke like she was reading from a technical instruction manual for a stereo.

"Don't forget protecting the people you're with. 'Cause if you've got something, and by you I mean generic person having sex and not either of us, you owe it to your partner to protect them." Anemone flipped back through her notes to see if she was missing anything. "That's really all I can see, it seems pretty straight forward."

Turtle nodded, shutting her notebook, hand on top of it, case closed. "Yup. No-nonsense." Just how she liked her sex-ed. Easy-peasy, simple and clear, and nothing that she ever planned on using for probably another decade, thus allowing herself to remove herself from the subject matter and be plenty comfortable with it, la.

"There's plenty of nonsense about sex. Miss Lulu said she'd find a list for me about sexual myths, because I got confused by some of the things my last discussion partner said." Anemone rolled her eyes. "We don't really get into the tricky stuff until after mid-terms. It almost makes me wonder what the final will be, I mean, how do you give a written test on something like this? Hopefully not practical demonstration, because I promised one of my boyfriends that I wouldn't go around kissing other people."
