Library [09/24]

Sam was at the library a little early this morning, putting away all of the books he'd checked out over the last week before officially opening the doors.

"No wonder Dean said you were such a pain," Peter teased. "Oh! I got to meet Grace. And radio apparently thinks I'm you."

"The radio squirrels hate me, I think," Sam said. "But I'm glad you got to meet Grace. Did she charm you in under ten seconds?"

"Soon as I walked in the door," Peter said. "You're going to have to fight off potential suitors with sticks when the time comes."

"Oh, don't worry, Dean and I are fully prepared to beat down anyone who might have impure intentions for Grace," Sam promised.

"This is where the history with weaponry comes in handy, right?" Peter said with a grin.

"Yeah. And blunt objects. And getting people to leave us alone. Grace might be able to date by the time she's thirty."

"Think she'll go into the business?" Peter asked.

"Honestly, I don't know," Sam said. "On one hand, I can't imagine Dad not teaching her to protect herself against all the evil things out there, and if she's trained, she could help. But she is a girl, and I don't know how that'll effect the way he treats her."

"How's he feel about Jo?" Peter asked.

"He's seemed pretty willing to teach Jo," Sam admitted. "But she's not his daughter unless canon goes hahaha at us."

"True," Peter said. "Though on the other hand Grace is Zoe's daughter. It occurs to me your dad may not get a choice in the matter."

"That's a good point. I think she's even more of a badass than my dad is though, so I don't know which side of the hunting debate she'd fall on."

"No, no way," Sam said, laughing. "That's a realization he doesn't need to know about."

Peter smiled, a little wistful at the idea of having a relationship with a dad you could be proud of. "Anyway, I should go. Have to get my model on for next period."

Sam laughed harder, but tried not to show it. "I'll have to crash at some point to see how you do."

"Shame you work on the days it happens," Peter said. He gave Sam a taunting look as he went to head out.
