Aly had had a rather long and exciting night. Which resulted in very, very little sleep. And that possibly showed either in her rather ramshackle appearance or in the class that the students were about to experience.

She waited for her students to arrive at the Danger Shop with an expression of glee and amusement on her face.

"Today's the first of your practical lessons," she said, bouncing slightly on her toes. "It's a lesson not so much in specifics as improvisation. You'll be working in pairs and go through a series of obstacles and keep each other from getting hurt."

Aly flipped the controls of the Danger Shop to reveal...a rushing river of foamy hot chocolate over rapids of chunks of chocolate. Very, very large graham crackers and marshmallows sat by the side of the river. As did mugs. Beyond the river was a corral filled with yapping, wiggling, playing puppies who flung themselves at anything that came close to them. And beyond that? Was a very large wall.

She grinned and pressed another button. Voices seemed to come from the Danger Shop. "Oh noes! Oh noes!"

And then the wall exploded outward as a giant creature burst through. "OH YEEAAAAAAAH"

Aly couldn't help laughing. It had been a long night.

She looked back to the class. "Oh yes, and you and your partner need to bind two of your legs together. This is a three-legged contest."

Anders was not so much taking notes or WTFing as . . . attempting to sneak a few bites of graham cracker on the sly. Attempting.

Wyatt sat down near Anders, still almost vibrating from caffeine and sugar. "Hey," he said.

Anders looked up from eyeing the blinking voicemail (http://futurebucs-star.livejournal.com/3010.html?thread=2629826) icon on his phone, and quirked an eyebrow at Wyatt.

"Someone's hyper today. And a little bit late."

"A little too much coffee," Wyatt said. He eyed the phone as well. "So . . . anyone call recently?"

"Yeah," Anders replied, tapping the phone's display screen. "Haven't checked it yet, but . . . why?"

". . . no reason," Wyatt lied. Badly.

Because Anders believed that. Right.

"Wyatt? Whyyyyyyyyyyy?"

"Maybe you should just listen," Wyatt said.

Anders gave him a funny look, but flipped open the phone and called his voicemail.

About two seconds later he had to hold the phone away from his ear, wincing.

"Um," he finally said after listening to (and saving) the message. "Um. Why does Piper think I'm engaged to Bel and your aunt?"

"Because it accidentally slipped out when I talked to her last night," Wyatt said.

Blink, blink.

"Why," Anders demanded, "would it accidentally slip out, from you, when it's not even true?"

"You told me you were!" Wyatt insisted.

"The hell?" Anders blurted out. "I never said anything like that!"

"Dude, you totally did!" Wyatt said.

Adam kind of stared. Yeah, today's class was going to be interesting.

Seely was totally awake and alert during the lecture, really. No reason why he shouldn't be.

Aravis similarly was wide awake and not at all exhausted for any reason.

Chad was confused. It wasn't rare for Chad to be confused, but this was a very special brand of confused.

Just when Jaina had thought she was used to Fandom...

Bridge? Equal parts confused and really, really wishing he had a morpher of his own. Because the Kool-Aid Man looks remarkably similar to the kind of monsters a certain villain whose name starts with Z and rhymes with Ed was known for making.

Bridge mentally dubs it Juicehead.

Adam might've been thinking along the same lines as Bridge as he boggled at the thhing before them.

Glancing over at Bridge, he gestured to the juice guy. "I'm guessing that's normal for this place?" Yes, it was quietly asked because he didn't want to get in trouble.

[I couldn't resist!]

*blink* *blink*

Sokka stared a lot.

And then grinned.

"OH, YEAH!!!!"

Was Peter inexplicably thirsty during the lecture? OH YEAH!

Inara spent the lecture trying to think of a polite way to ask Aly if she needed psychiatric counseling.
