Keeping Your Wits About You... [Monday 2nd Period 10-11] Class # 3

There had been a handwavey correspondance to the students to let them know to meet in the Danger Room today, though have no fear, this in no way meant there were no treats. Wilson had made Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake bars for the students to get their sweet fix satisfied. There was also coffee, tea and water.

Wilson himself was leaning against a wall with a cup of coffee in his hand. As soon as everybody was in the Danger Room and accounted for, the young doctor grinned and straightened up.

"All right then. Today is our first practical lesson. You are each going to face down an insideous opponant, one by one through that door there. You can not use force, you can not use powers. Johnny, you can try fire on the door, it won't give, it's designed to be impervious to all your powers, magical or otherwise. You must play by the door's rules."

He waited for the students to finish looking at him as if he'd grown a second head and grinned around his coffee cup.

"Yes I said door. You'll understand when you get into the scenario. Now the rules are you have three chances to make it through the door. After that, times up and either you solve the door's challenge or you loose. Loosing won't affect your grade but I hope it will make you think. Winning ... gives you bragging rights over the door. Okay, everyone understand? Then step up and you go in alphabetical order."

Picking up a clipboard, he began to read off the list.

Elric, Alphonse
Evans, Isabel
Halliwell, Chris
Halliwell, Wyatt
Huston, Beauty
Lang, Lana
Levine, Savannah
Roberts, Summer
Sato, Hoshi
Shirley, Anne
Storm, Johnny

[ooc: Rules: You get 3 tags to ask the door questions and work out the riddle. So there should be a total of 6 tags with the door giving the final tag, the first tag by the door does not count it just establishes the riddle.

Of course you don't have to stick to class list order, since time zones and the like. No using of powers to get past the door, the Danger Room is designed specifically to everybodies unique power strengths to withstand those strengths. OCDs are on the way, please wait for them to be put up! Class is in session]

Isabel had to think about it for a few minutes. "I'd ask each man, 'what would your companion say is the correct road?' The road they don't point to would be the correct answer."

"Got it in one," the door sighed. "You may pass."

Oh great, math Chris thought.

"It contains all the numbers one through nine?" Chris guessed.

"You don't expect me to open up if you only give half an answer do you? Be more specific."

"Easy," Wyatt said. "Turn both hourglasses over. When the two minute one runs out, start boiling the egg, because that means there's three minutes left on the five minute timer."

"Hmph. It wasn't that easy. You may pass."

Re: The Test - Beauty Huston

Beauty thought about the riddle for a moment, and then asked, "Do I have to use all of the numbers, or can I use only some of them?"

[ooc: Oh sure, give me a math question. :-p]

Re: The Test - Lana Lang

[identity profile] lovelylana.livejournal.com 2007-09-17 12:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'll weigh them in sets of two. Only one set will weigh heavier than the rest, so I'll hold onto those two marbles as a special set.," Lana said.

"I'll know that one of those two is the heavier one. Then I'll weigh one of the special set with three that I know are the same weight. If the side with the marble from the special set weighs heavier, I'll know that marble is the heavier one. Otherwise it will be the other one from the special set."

Savannah ponders this and looks at the door. Being her, she would turn on all of the switches at once, but she doesn't think that's what Wilson wants her to do.

"Do I have to move the switches one at a time?"
absolutesnark: (Contemplative)

Re: The Test - Summer Roberts

Summer had to think about that for a moment. Of course, she was thinking like a Fandom resident at first. Maybe one of them was half demon or angel or witch or...something.

Then she had another thought. "Ooh, I know. They're all boys, right?"

Re: The Test - Hoshi Sato

[identity profile] itsjustlanguage.livejournal.com 2007-09-17 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"What? Why do I have to get a riddle about money? I've never even used money until I got here," groaned Hoshi.

Re: The Test - Johnny Storm

Johnny wasn't so hot at riddles. He would never admit to this of course.

With a slight shrug, he said, "She-male."
