The Library

Enough of the library is clean that Janet can work without worrying about accidentally sitting in zombie goo.

However, she has a giant air freshener right next to her, because zombie stench sticks even worse than zombie goo, and is combing through a literature book while trying desperately not to breathe through her nose.

Janet stares. "Wow, you're madder than usual tonight. What the hell's a Muggle? And yes, they have stuff on magic and vampires. I've been meaning to check it out."

"I'll give *him* so-called good-guys." She visibly calms down. "Or maybe he was counting on it. Don't know. Don't care. He's going *down*."

"Hey, would you mind if I non-subtextually put into our campaign that you and Liz are going steady?"

Janet's eyes widened as she read the paper Parker threw in front of her. "Wow," she said mildly. "We should maybe talk strategy on this. I may have to set aside my traditional apathy here. But chill first. Let's hit Special Collections and gather some books." She started typing on the reference computer behind the desk.

"So, your techie, that guy from that place in Delaware you're from. He's good, right?"

"Broots?" Parker snorts, and looks amused. "It took the FBI two weeks to catch him, with a dedicated team of four experts working 24 hours a day. The computers here didn't know what hit them."

"Chilling. Chilling. I'm icy in my perfection." Parker glares at the printout of the email, then rips it up into little pieces. "Where's my lighter?"

Janet blinked. "My lesbian creds are seriously out-of-date, Parker. And I'm going to Homecoming with Daniel. So let's not screw that up, because if I don't get laid soon I may have to kill myself." She picked up the printout and read it again. "Besides, he's just being an ass. God, you're running the campaign for the good girls of the school, not the vicious bitches that smile at you and then stab you in the back."

Parker sighs. "Fine. There goes our pansexual GBLT street cred. Why couldn't *one* of those candidates be like Faith, renowned in song and many a dirty limerick?"

"I like your techie already," says Janet. "And not in the library, please." She glances around. "Okay, it's empty, but wait 'til we get in Special Collections. I think it's safer there."

She rolled her eyes at Parker's machinations. "Bad Parker. No easy pansexual street cred for you. Amazing how I want my love life not to be news all over."

She pulled a printout off the computer and rebooted. "Okay, let's go."

Janet handed Parker half of the printout and swiped them through into Special Collections. "Here," she said. "I cleared the cache and rebooted the computer. Looks like we're suddenly in secret agent mode? What the hell is up with this Angelus guy, anyway?"

"Uh, no," said Janet. "But as long as you're happy, that's good. What made your day so great?"

Between getting things all okay with Vala, Rogue having found the perfectest homecoming dress for me, the Quantum Physics Prof being all nice again, and well...

...can you keep a secret? Cause this isn't something that I should really be spreading... but... ::grins::

"All I know is, he got his jollies by intimidating Broots the first day. So did that prick Belthazor. That's *my* job. Angelus and Belthazor have public blood-stained records online, but that's not credible enough to get the campaign won."

Parker's eyes narrow. "He's backing that schmuck Malfoy. And I know enough about evil organizations to know that the JA is a deep-dyed squirrelly cadre of evil." Parker smiles nastily. "And if he's calling people the 'so-called good guys', he and his are nothing of the sort."
