Library: Friday [07.09]

Karal had gotten the phone call last night, and he was a little nervous about being in charge of the library.

He was quite probably the only person ever to bring a stack of books with him to open it.

Karal made sure the Librarian's office was nice and tidy, in case she wanted to use it.

Karal spent some time familiarising himself with everything, and he was very happy to find instructions for checking out books.

And he's not here. He's off ~~being horribly embarrassed in~~ attending class.

Karal is deep in the stacks, reshelving unshelved books and working on memorising the Dewey decimal system.

Altra's asleep on the service desk, though, and he'll let Karal know if anyone comes in.

The library's closed, unless you're Karal, Thursday, or an aide who's hanging around the library on your day off.

Thursday arrived shortly after first period began to give Karal time to open up on his own without worrying that she was looking over his shoulder. Everything seemed to be in order when she walked in and so she headed to her office, calling a "Hello!" as she went.

Karal decided that he could probably spend some time studying the books he'd brought with him.

They were all in Karsite, as were the notes he was making.

He's still working through those books, and his pile of notes is getting rather tall.

He'll probably notice it's time to close up and go home eventually.

First library post yay!

:This is new.: Altra appeared out of nowhere and made himself comfortable on the desk. :Going to give up on the Priesthood?:

"That is not funny," he replied reproachfully, relieved to see the Firecat again. "Where have you been?"

:Around.: A few quick licks of his paw, and he sat up straight, looking at Karal seriously. :It's time to go back.:

He sat down, heart sinking. "Right now? I have the library and class. I cannot just leave."

Altra yawned. :Not this minute, but soon. Tomorrow night. Ask Molly about the portals. We'll go back that way and keep your stomach in one piece:

Tomorrow. "Very well," he said. "It is good to see you again, Altra."

The Firecat batted at him playfully. :Of course it is. Now go do something libraryish while I take a nap.:

Molly hesitantly peeked her head into the library. She'd gone back to her room before coming down, to find something to offer Karal as an apology for getting him to sign up for Barney's class with her.

Spotting only Altra on the desk, she entered. Altra, she thought at him. She gave the 'cat a sheepish grin as she walked over to the desk with her hands behind her back.

He lifted his head in surprise, then twitched his whiskers in amusement. :Molly.:

"Did he tell you?" she asked with a slight cringe.

:I didn't get details, but he's hiding in the stacks.: His mindvoice sounded very amused. :Must have been quite a class.:

Molly looked away. "I don't think today's was too bad.

But, since it is still being played out, it could get worse.

. It's more what's coming," she said. "The syllabus... some of the classes are going to make Karal blush a lot."

:It's good for him.: Altra stretched to his feet and leapt off the desk, walking towards Molly. :He has to ask you something important. Why don't you go and find him. He'll be happy to see you.:

"If you say so," Molly replied, not so sure. But, she turned to go find Karal anyway.

She walked along, peeking down the isles until she spotted Karal. Taking a deep breath, she started down the row. "Hello!" she said with a grin, waving briefly before putting her hand behind her back again.

Karal looked up from the book he'd been shelving and smiled when he saw her. "Hello, Molly. Welcome to the library."

Molly smiled more at his greeting. "I'm happy to be here," she said walking up to him. "I think I might be able to find a reason to visit more often too."
