"Dates are good, and see, they can eventually lead to relationshippy type things. Um. As long as we're talking multiple dates with the same person and not several dates with as many different people." Bridge says with a nod. "But I like dates, awkward moments and all, because then you work through the awkward moments and things are good and then later you can be like 'oh hey remember that time with the room that locked us in until we made out?' and um, Xander is great. Unless he's gone and gotten himself in trouble when I wasn't looking but we had a talk where we both agreed we were gonna stop doing that."
Andrew had no problem following Bridge, being that he was a bit of a talker himself.
"All these dates have definitely been with the same person," Andrew replied. "Neil's great, but we're both kind of new to this whole thing and I know that I have no clue what I'm doing most of the time and he's just so sweet and innocent, so we both seem to bumble around a good bit and then get all weirded out if things start to get a little mushy -- not that we've had mushy."
He took a breath, "But I've wanted to tell you that I drew a lot of courage from knowing that you and Xander are a couple. That kind of thing... well, lets just say I wouldn't have had that back home.
"Oh, Neil!" Bridge nods in recognition. "I haven't talked to him, but I knew Conner, his roommate from last year, and Conner thought well of him." He blushes a bit at the courage comment. "That's... wow. I mean, I knew, sort of, Xander's mentioned that it's something people from your time aren't always comfortable with. So I'm glad we could- I don't know if this will help at all, but Xander was the first person I'd ever dated. And I was the first, uh, guy-type person, for him. And there was a lot of bumbling in the beginning for us, too."
Andrew blushed as well and ducked his head, "Thanks. Yeah. I guess it's, um, it's just so hard kind of getting over that -- not shame... anxiety, maybe? I don't know..." He wasn't good with the whole the truthful thing.
"Anyway, it's a library!" Andrew gestured about him. "And I had a reason for being here. I just have to remember what it was."
"Hell!" Andrew exclaimed. "I need to do some research on Hell. My little brother is of the demon persuasion and I wanted to try and build up my knowledge base so I can help him acclimate to Fandom better."
"Okay, well. I can show you these books over here," Bridge says, leading Andrew over to the appropriate section. "Anything involving demonic spells or other sorts of magic would be in Special Collections, but I think you should be okay with this here."
Bridge looks at Andrew carefully. "Well, you'll have to get a note from a teacher. And one of the library staff will have to go with you- it's kind of dangerous in there- and you can't actually check books out of Special Collections. It's reference-only."
"Well, not particularly. I just have a problem with knowledge being under lock and key. It's only harmful if it's your intent to use it," Andrew whined.
Bridge sighs. "Tell that to the books that like to bite people," he says. "It's not just that they contain potentially dangerous knowledge, it's that some of the books *themselves* are dangerous, no matter if you've got the best of intentions or not."
With a little dismissive hand gesture, Andrew replied, "Then it will be a challenge. I love a good challenge."
He began to scan the shelves in front of him. "Oh, but there's plenty to start with right here." He pulled out a book and started to flip through the pages.
Re: Fourth Period
Sometimes Bridge talks too much.
