Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

Amazingly enough, this part of the lawn looked pretty clear. For the moment, at least.

[Welcome to the third post, for more general chatting. This part of the picnic is going on at the same time as the previous two posts. Feel free to continue the conversations you've already started in those posts, and make new threads there if your browser isn't crashing yet, but otherwise, if you want to make a new thread come on in here.]

"I'm here because the king sent me here!" Sora shouted back feeling REALLY vulnerable without the keyblade for the first time since he'd left home. "You... You're a Nobody! And I... I defeated you! How can you be here?" Sora didn't say killed, even though he really had seemed to have killed Demyx before.

Wait... didn't he say over a year?

Sora stepped out of the fighting pose with a really baffled look. "Wait, the battle at Hollow Bastion was only a few months ago for me...? Is this one of those weird Fandom things that Naminé was telling me about?" This was typical Sora behavior, he couldn't stay angry with people or even hate them. With a few exceptions of course.

Not that Demyx had any weapons...well, technically. His weapon was a musical instrument, after all. But they did both have magic. "Yeah, way to open up old wounds," Demyx said, making a face. "I've kinda been trying to move past the whole being-technically-dead thing. Even if it is one of those things that works for the beginning of term question teachers ask, where you have to list interesting things about yourself. Anyway!" He gestured wildly to bring them both back to the point at hand. "I've been here for more than a year. I guess I sorta got spat out here at the beginning of last summer, and I can't portal off the island, so I stayed. It's actually been pretty fun."

Sora just stared at Demyx with a vaguely stunned expression. "Wow, you talk a lot.... Did you talk this much when we met before?"

Demyx scowled at him. "I don't need to ask if you were this rude when we met before."

Sora winced sheepishly as he realized what he said had been rude. "No... but you're one of the bad guys! Wh.. I don't get why you're at a school!" Sora really was jsut baffled by all this. Naminé he could understand, but Demyx?

"You guys aren't taking over or something are you?"

"Nobody else is here," Demyx said, sounding almost a little forlorn. "Well, Roxas. But I think he's kinda vanished, and...well, he's different." The blond shrugged. "He's not the Roxas I knew. So, in a way, I'm still just the same as before him and Naminé showed up. The Organization isn't here, and I don't think I'd really like it much if they did. Well, most of them." Demyx scratched the back of his neck, then shrugged again. "You don't have to worry about anything from me. But if you try to kill me again, I'm not going to like it very much."

"I only attack in self defense Demyx," Sora pointed out, not so sure what to do now aftr hearing all that. "But... I thought you were part of the Organization, why wouldn't you want them here? You all were fighting for the same thing... weren't you?"

"Not really," Demyx admitted, frowning slightly. "Everyone had their own reasons. I've never been a good fighter, so I thought the whole thing was pretty stupid, really. I just wanted to really feel the music again, you know?" He looked away from Sora, picking at the sleeve of his jacket. "It's stupid, anyway."

"Why is it stupid?" Yes, he was curious. It was kinda weird how Demyx went back and forth with his moods like this. That and, with the exception of Axel, Sora thought that all the Organization members were pretty evil.

"Because it is." Demyx felt like he was just stating the obvious. "Everybody said so." He wasn't exactly evil; evil was very much in the eye of the beholder ~~and Beholders are pretty damn evil~~.

"Everyone here? Or everyone in the Organization?" Sora asked. "Because, don't get me wrong, but it didn't seem like any of them knew what a godo thing was."

"You aren't wrong," Demyx agreed. "Not a single one of them really appreciated music. Except maybe Axel." He allowed himself a moment for that, then smiled. "Actually, though, there's a lot of people who've been here who like my music. I think that's why I like it here so much."

Sora nodded. "Axel did seem different than the others too, he actually saved me and helped me get to the World that Never Was," he explained and looked at Demyx. "Why were you with the Organization?"

If he hadn't have been, Sora could almost see them being friends... almost.

"Axel was a good guy," Demyx agreed wholly. "I'm not surprised he helped you. He really cared about Roxas." Demyx bit his lip, giving Sora's question serious thought for about five seconds. "Because I couldn't go anywhere else. Besides, Xemnas did say - at least once - that he wanted me there. I guess he thought I could do something until he found out I can't fight very well."

Sora put a hand over his heart at the mention of Roxas and nodded. "Yeah he said something about Roxas making him feel like he had a heart."

"Yeah. I think because of him...he did." Demyx grinned, still looking really sheepish. "I know Nobodies don't have hearts. But maybe we can get them back somehow. I know Axel wasn't heartless."

Sora smirked and shrugged. "Anything's possible right? Anyways, I should go Demyx get all set in my room and stuff, but... it was interesting talking to you."

"Yeah, it was," Demyx agreed. "And much less painful." He rubbed his chest, remembering their last encounter. "I'm on the fifth floor. I think it's sort of a Nobody gathering place, since Roxas is next door and Naminé is across the hall. You'll like Fandom--" he cut off, frowning. "...What was your name again? I know it's not Roxas, but it's not Not-Roxas, either."

Sora jsut stared at Demyx, stunned that he'd forgotten his name. "Uh..." He laughed. "It's Sora. Like Roxas, but take out the 'X'."

"Oh, right! You did say that before, huh?" Demyx blushed slightly, scuffing the toe of his boot. "I've got a terrible memory for most things. Anyway, I won't forget!"
