Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

Amazingly enough, this part of the lawn looked pretty clear. For the moment, at least.

Looking through his cards, Kabuto glanced up at Troy and frowned slightly. "I haven't met you before, have I?"

Troy looked at him, considering. "I don't think so, no. Been here long? It's just since the second summer session for me."

"I've been here since spring term," Kabuto explained. "Obviously there's a lot of people I haven't met yet. Anyway, I'm Kabuto Yakushi. Nice to meet you."

"Troy Bolton!" Troy replied, smiling and holding out his hand. "I think there are a lot of people I haven't met yet, too."

Kabuto shook Troy's hand, though a little reluctantly. "I thought I'd meet more people after getting a job, but it hasn't been quite what I expected."

"Really? Why's that? And you should totally get involved in some of the school stuff, you'll meet lots of people that way. I met some great people when I directed a show this summer."

"No, thanks," Kabuto smiled. "I'm really not the type to get involved in school activities. I'm not that social."

"Oh." Troy definitely didn't pout, just kinda... frowned a little. Only a little. "Well, I guess that won't work for you then. Where do you work, anyway?"

"I work at the Devil's Nest," the ninja explained. "And don't worry, I'm not just saying that because I don't like you. I'm really just not a school-spirit sort of person. My loyalties lie...elsewhere."

"Oh, okay." Troy had to admit, he was starting to get a little weirded out. "Anyway, maybe I'll see you around some?" He wasn't trying to make a fast exit at all, honest!

Weird people out? Kabuto? Never! Kabuto smiled brightly at him. "That would be great, Troy. It's been wonderful meeting you." He pushed his glasses up, smile never faltering.
