"That's a very mercenary thing to say," Dean observed. He glanced down at the cookies. "These aren't the 'wake up in a musical and get hit over the head with a frying pan' kind of cookies are they?"

It was very mercenary, but it had come from Anya, so that was to be expected, really. "As if," she snorted, "but no, these are 'I got bored and made cookies to welcome the newbies' kind of cookies. No singing--I already had some of the dough."

Dean continued to eye them suspiciously. "What's in them?"

"Oatmeal and raisins," she pointed to the green ones, then to the red, "and cherry chocolate chip. Plus some spices."

"Which would be?" Dean had totally seen Dawn's baking efforts before.

"Wasabi and cayenne...but not together, though, because that would be gross."

"Of course," Dean replied. "Maybe you should put up a sign with the ingredients. In case any of the newbies-" think you're trying to poison them "-have allergies or something."

"I'll tell them if they ask," Dawn promised. "Besides, I've never heard of a wasabi allergy."
