Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Zoe was very impressed with how well the construction people had done in rebuilding the school, and the grounds had been cleared just in time for the picnic to welcome the new students and teachers. Tables and chairs had been set up, and there was plenty of food and drinks, along with nametags, and two signs, one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and another listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

[WAIT FOR THE OCD PLEASE. OCD IS UP. This is part one of the picnic, for specifically meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. Part two is happening simultaneously here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. *g*]

"It was lovely, thank you," she laughed. "Other than that unpleasantness with the former Principal. What a horrid woman she was. Were you one of those who assisted with her removal?"

"No," Steve admitted. "No, I wanted to be there, but something came up and I was unavoidably detained." Stupid Nick Fury.

"Is everything all right?" Naminé asked. "If that isn't forward to ask."

"Everything is..." all right would be a lie. "Where I'm from isn't a good place to be right now, is all. A...friend of mine needed my help."

"I'm sorry to hear that. But I'm glad that you were there for your friend." Naminé tilted her head curiously. "Is it you that's to be teaching the art class this term?"

"I am," Steve said cheerfully. "I think I saw your name on my roster, yes?"

"I couldn't resist," she beamed. "I hope that's all right."

"Of course it's all right, I'll be glad to have you!" Steve said. "In fact...would you like to be my TA?"

"If you're serious, I would love to!" Naminé laughed. "I'm not terribly certain what a TA does, as I've only been one once before, and I think that was mostly so Ares could be strange at me. But I'll do what I can."

"I would promise not to be strange at you, but I'm not sure what would qualify as 'strange.' If I'm strange at you, please just tell me and I'll stop," Steve asked her. "It's not a big deal, really. If I can't make it, you'll take care of class that week, but I don't anticipate that. Mostly, you'd just help me with the supplies and whatnot."

Naminé shook her head, smiling. "I doubt you could be as unusual as Ares if you were trying. He called himself a god and was trying to incite the class into rebellion. It was not the class I had anticipated, I'll say that. What you're suggesting sounds rather fun, actually."
