Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Zoe was very impressed with how well the construction people had done in rebuilding the school, and the grounds had been cleared just in time for the picnic to welcome the new students and teachers. Tables and chairs had been set up, and there was plenty of food and drinks, along with nametags, and two signs, one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and another listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

[~~WAIT FOR THE OCD PLEASE.~~ OCD IS UP. This is part one of the picnic, for specifically meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. Part two is happening simultaneously here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. *g*]

"Suppose that answers that," Harry muttered. "You know, a prefect? Bossy student who helps out on the first day and keeps the little first years in line and whatnot."

"Not me, kid," Lee said. Not that he was older than Harry but it sounded like something to say.

"Kid?" Harry repeated skeptically.

Lee shrugged a shoulder and said, "Sounded like something a bossy student would say. You called yourself a little first year."

"I did not!" Harry protested.

"I think you did," Lee retorted. "You thought I was a bossy prefect so that makes you a little first year. Does that mean I can boss you around?"

Harry rolled his eyes. "It's not my fault you're not from a proper school system and didn't know what one was."

"Excuse me?" Lee asked, narrowing his eyes. "You don't know where I come from, kid."

"Stop calling me kid," Harry replied, irritation growing.

"What if I don't?" Lee shot back.

Harry knew it was wrong to pull his wand on a Muggle, much though wanted to. "Look, I don't want to fight," he gritted out, keeping his temper just barely in check. "Just trying to find my roommate, thought you could help, my mistake."

"Maybe I can," Lee said tightly, not wanting to show this kid that he was too new. "What's your roommate's name?"

Because Lee had totally met a lot of people.

"Lee Adama," Harry said, repeating the unfamiliar name.

"No, it's not," Lee said. Had to be a mistake. Had to be.

"...yes it is. Why, do you know him?"

"Frak," Lee muttered. "I am him. Lee Adama. You're Harry?"

"You're joking," Harry said, staring. "Harry Potter, yes, that's me."

"Yeah, I'm joking about that," Lee griped. "Except I'm not. Nice to meet you, Harry."

Harry rolled his eyes. "It's going to be worse than last year with Seamus," he sighed. "Nice to meet you too.

"I could always act like one of your prefects if it would make you feel better," Lee sniped almost under his breath.

"Doesn't seem like you'd need to work hard to be a bossy prat."

"And you've got frakking temper tantrums down to a science," Lee snapped back.

"I'm not the one who picked a fight," Harry pointed out, "kid."

"You sure didn't back away," Lee retorted, eyes narrowed. "And you're the kid."

"You look younger."

No, he didn't.
