Announcements, Sunday Afternoon
"Good afternoon, students," Zoe started, sounding more pleased than she usually did during announcements. "This is Principal Washburn. I wanted to take a moment to inform you all that my maternity leave period has ended, and my replacement, if you wish to call her that, has been removed from her position. If there is anyone who can assist me in returning my office to its former clean, non-pink state, I would appreciate it if you could come by tomorrow. And if, for some reason, anyone would like a commemorative kitten plate, I would be more than happy to have those removed from my office as well.
"On a second note, I would like to apologize to everyone for what happened over the past few weeks. I assure you, I did not know what the school board was going to do when I left, and I promise, they will be hearing from me." Her tone may have suggested that it would not be a pleasant experience for the school board at all. "I was told by Ms. Umbridge that the students here were insolent and disrespectful, which I can only assume means that you all acted as you normally do when there's a threat to the school, and for once, I can say that most of you acted appropriately. But you should also be proud of your teachers, for the countless efforts that they made to keep all of you safe. Make sure you thank them, if you get the chance.
"That's all I wanted to say for now. Enjoy your week off, and thank you."
