Flight and Flying [Thursday, August 23, 3rd period]

Anakin was waiting for the students on the top of the apartment building in town, leaning up against a Lambda-class Imperial shuttle.

"Welcome to the Virgo," he said with a small smile before giving them a quick rundown of the general specifications of the ship. "It's twenty meters long and is generally used to ferry soldiers or cargo back home," he said. "It's also equipped with a hyperdrive--which we will not be using--as well as two forward-facing double laser cannons, two wing-mounted double cannons, and a rear-facing double laser cannon." He met each student's eyes. "Which we will definitely not be using. We're going to do a quick swing around the system here--we won't go out as far as Pluto, but since it's not a planet any longer, I doubt it will be that offended."

He waved a hand towards the ramp. "Come aboard."

Anakin, after shooting Rory a small smile, opened a closet to reveal a stack of Space Trooper outfits.

"These are not at all necessary," he said, focusing for a moment on his son, "but I know some of you are a little worried about actually being in space. We're completely safe in here, but if you feel like being extra cautious," he left the "and looking like an idiot" part unspoken, but it was in his tone, "feel free to suit up."

River looked at the outfits and decided against putting one on. She smiled, thinking that Simon might have, though, just to be on the safe side.

Qui-Gon raised an eyebrow at the suits, wondering if Anakin had gone out of his way to procure the ugliest he could find. "I may think twice before putting that on even if there was a hull breach."

Adam stared at the outfit for a moment, having never seen anything like it. He decided he wasn't going to wear one.

Sam had given in to the propeller beanies, but the outfit seemed like a bit much.

Rikku giggled at the weird-looking uniforms. Hey, even the Al Bhed hadn't gone for anything that ugly.
