How to Be Awesome: Period 1, Week 7

Barney was dressed in his nicest all-black suit ensemble, it was his Vader suit. He addressed his class, assembled in the darkened Danger Shop for the last time.
"During this Legendary workshop session you have learned How to Be Awesome. You have suited up, you have learned the art of the pickup line, you have learned to role play, you learned the gentle art of the Lemon Law." Barney paused to look pointedly at Zack before saying, "You learned how to create an online portfolio, you learned to distinguish between awesome and not awesome celebrities, and finally, you learned how to gamble."

"Today is the culmination of your studies in Awesome. Today we will learn if you are a man, a lesbian, or a loser," again with the looking at Zack. He wasn't still bitter, not at all. "Today we will play laser tag. Here is a list of the teams." Barney motioned to Andrew who passed around papers listing this:

"I am what we in the field call a Lone Wolf. I am a master of all laser tag strategies. Please try to catch me off guard, I dare you!" Barney laughed loudly and dramatically. "Now, the rules are that there are no rules, just equipment and your knowledge of awesomeness. Now, get out of those suit jackets and prepare to be destroyed!"

Isabel found a spot that was easy to defend and set about defending it.

Even though her eyes were still sore, it didn't stop Isabel from noticing Johnny being stealthy. "Do you really want to risk it?"

"And I'll just enjoy shooting you down," she teased. "Glad to see the spell wore off."

"You'd seriously shoot me?" Johnny asked, giving her puppy dog eyes. "And I'm glad to see you're okay." Umbridge needed to die.

Johnny took aim cause he could be totally wicked like that.

"Yeah, I would," Isabel grinned. "She got me with some spell on my eyes. They're still sore, but better then they were."

When Johnny raised his gun, Isabel raised her hand and gave a tiny little TK tug.

"I'm going to torch her." He kept saying that but only because it made him feel good.

Johnny's gun veered to the left and he cocked his head at her. "That's not fair."

(going to be sp for a bit! got to go and do a walk-through on our new house! yay!)

"If something doesn't happen soon, I'll help." But she trusted Xander and had a feeling something was going to happen.

"Why not? I'm just making use of one of my many talents." Isabel raised her own gun. "Should I? Or shouldn't I?"

"Let's hope it happens soon. I don't really want to go to jail for murder." He commented wryly.

Johnny grinned and looked at her gun. "And would you like me to make use of one of my many talents, sweetheart?" He took a small, careful step towards her.

"I'd be there to keep you company," Isabel pointed out.

"It depends on what talent. You have one or two that would probably get you some extra credit from Barney." And would probably, hopefully, finally convince him that she wasn't a lesbian. Not that Isabel was volunteering for a demonstration.

Johnny stepped forward, and Isabel stepped back. "Stop or I'll shoot."

"Then I would say jail might be tolerable," Johnny winked.

Quirking a brow, he smiled slowly. "Extra credit is always good. But then I have a girlfriend now, Isabel, so I've got to be careful on the skillz I attempt to use." That was really strange to say. Only because he's never said it before.

When she stepped back, he stepped forward and aimed again. "Do you really want to?"

"A girlfriend? Officially and all?" she asked, just a bit surprised. "Savannah? Does this mean I can't flirt outrageously with you anymore?"

Isabel thought about his question of a second or two. "Yes," she said happily, and pulled the trigger.

Isabel had been a little too focused on dealing with Johnny. "Dammit! Thanks Wyatt," she grumbled.

Wyatt beamed innocently. "You're surrounded with boys with guns," he said. "Your downfall is inevitable."

"I don't think so," Isabel laughed as she waited for her vest to reset. "You got me once. It won't happen again."

"I'm Awesome in Action," Wyatt declared. "We shall be victorious!"

Then he noticed that Isabel's eyes seemed a little red and swollen. "Hey, you okay?" he said. "Allergies bugging you or something?"

"Please, I'm never going to be able to hear that word without twitching."

Isabel made a face and shook her head. "Sadly no. This is leftover effects from my visit with Umbridge yesterday. She didn't like what I had to say."

Wyatt frowned. "She got you, too?" he said. "I wish she was a demon so I could try to make a vanquish potion or a spell to get rid of her." He took a closer look at Isabel's eyes. "Want me to try to heal you?" he asked.

"I made the mistake of answering her summons," she admitted. "But I just wanted to see her. She's really screwed up."

"If you can? I'll love you forever. It's annoying as hell even though it's better then it was yesterday."

"Somebody has to do something about her," Wyatt grumbled. He took another look at Isabel's eyes, then set his laser gun aside and held out his hands on either side of her face. "Just relax," he said, concentrating on healing her eyes. Golden light swept from his fingers, bathing Isabel's face.

"I think there's something in the works," Isabel replied, remembering her conversation with Xander. "Hopefully soon."

She's had enough experience with Max and healing that she could relax easily enough. "The light's different, but better then random memory flashes." Within a moment or two, her eyes felt fine.

"There, how's that feel?" Wyatt said, inspecting his work. "Your eyes look much better. I'm getting good at this."

"It feels a hundred percent better. Thank you," she smiled. "Although I wonder about you're getting good at this. Was there a chance I was going to wind up worse off?"
